The Republican leadership officially squashed even any discussion of impeaching Obama, even after he openly and admittedly violated the immigration laws which certainly would have passed the impeachment bar, unlike anything that is factually known about the Trump=Ukraine situation.

 

Having Trump as the president is rhe best thing possible for patriotic Americans. His record speaks for itself. The USA is better off economically. Across the board. Of course, globalists and American sell outs aren't happy about it. What benefits ordinary Americans makes them miserable.Tragic.

The OP started on the wrong foot. First, Chief Justice Roberts would preside over a trial in the Senate. His interest is much different from both party’s. His job is to protect the integrity of the court. He won’t preside over a circus.

No. Republican’s can’t call “anyone” to testify. Any witness would need to have something to do with the proceeding.

The facts in the House proceeding have been established AND to date, have not been challenged: back channel, hold, call.

While roughly a third of the country will put up with the current Republican shenanigans in the House the rest of us will not. Their behavior over next few months will determine their prospects in 2020.

 

The problem for democrats is they feel and dont think about tomorrow. But that is their big problem!!!!

The evidence against Fake Don regarding his shakedown of a foreign leader - aided and abetted by dirt bags Giuliani, Parnas, and Fruman - to smear a political rival demanded that Congress exercise its constitutional responsibility, regardless of the political ramifications about which folks can speculate. The House leadership resisted what is required for as long as it could.

Rather than the usual diversionary whining about past administrations and folks concerning whom the entire Republican machine has been impotent - despite relentless, desperate attempts and the cheerleading of hyper-partisan media entertainers - in contriving actual criminal charges against any of them, Fake Don could justify the prolonging of the Senate depositions by removing the gag orders from Mulvaney, Bolton, and others who are privy to pertinent information he is desperate to conceal.

They didn't try, they did impeach him. It wasn't over an affair, it was over obstruction of justice and perjury. Not to mention all of the rape allegations, Travel-gate and other crimes he committed while in office. To be fair, Hillary was just as much at fault as Bill. She should have been indicted for assault and battery for throwing a vase at the POTUS and giving him a black eye.
