I may claim I am Michael Jackson or Santa. Does it make it true? Of course not.
And of course the gypsies would want to distance themselves from their origin, calling themselves other names. Who want to be called an idiot, an outcast, a criminal?
And yes, of course they are not Egyptians. Only in English they are called that. In many languages "gypsies" comes from the Greek "assingani" which means exactly that - "the untouchable", an outcast. Cigan, cigani, zigeuner (de), gitan (fr), etc

What is more you calling them human parasites is just what the Nazis did before they took them for medical experiments and the Gas Chambers.

Laybout, exploiters of the elderly and anyone else they can swindle out of their meagre finances. Scum of the bloody earth, in other words. Just as well we're not all like them isn't it?

Just because you do not like the Zeugener = Enlisch gipsys ... which I do not do ... you can not deny facts. The fact is that the Roma insist on being called Roma and it is not an invention of others to avoid the word gypsy!

I was in Milan, Italy, recently. Guess who the main thieves, muggers, pickpockets and a major threat to tourists were? :bye:

Told ya, gypsies are the right hand of Muslims.

Whatever, I'm gonna call them with traditional names, i.e. gypsies. It's my right to do so, right?
They can call themselves "kings of humanity" or "the smartest of all people" if they will.

They also left during the Hindu onslaughts. I have only looked at them in Romania where they were slaves for a very long time. When they were eventually given their 'freedom' they were given nothing. Hence they had no money with which to carry on their trades which they did as slaves unless they stole. They also suffered from incredibly aggression when they tried to integrate. That said they were as the quote I gave earlier said settling prior to WW2 and attempts at their annihilation. I think originally Romania sent her Roma and Jews to Transnistria to starve to death while being forced to work beyond endurance but eventually there was protests by ordinary Romanians, and I think it stopped before they got started on the settled ones. Most of their Jews were killed.

Here is an account of the Roma prior to WW2. As you will notice it begins by saying most had now settled. They had come a long way since they were kept as slaves.

Gypsies by the way are what the travelling people in the UK call themselves. They claim to have come from Egypt.

Yeah, kept slaves by the... wait for it.. wait for it... the Muslims!

I suggest we come back to topic - Hungarian hobos. The gypsies will be dealt with, one way or another.

I don't come here for dirty talk. As I told you I was talking about the Roma kept slave by the Romanians.

Then they should consider doing what we do in our nearby city. That city has a homeless center built by private sector donations. The center provides housing, food, medical and addiction services. Nobody is allowed to sleep in the streets. Those that do are rounded up by police and taken to the homeless center. No government involvement at all other than the police transporting homeless to the center.

Therein lies the problem. The one thing they are not being given is help finding a job which would help end their poverty. Just giving them food, medical treatment and shelter is an incentive for them not to look for work.

Does it not occur to you that you're defending those who, when they first come into contact with you, will be carrying out an assessment for any signs that you might have something worth stealing - and with violence if necessary?? I honestly don't know what makes you liberals tick. In this particular case, the 'gypsies' we're talking about aren't those quaint 'gentlemen of the road' ones known as Romany. who dwell in, and wend their several ways through country lanes in horse-drawn caravans like this one . . .

[IMG] and petition any passing stranger if they'd like to buy a sprig of lucky heather, they're effing ruthless opportunists. :wall: :wall:

As far as no objection ... besides the fact that in Hungary there are only 11,000 such places for the homeless, but there are 20 to 40,000 homeless people (+ high and unknown dark figure).

The right action is therefore sufficient to create these places and not to make homeless by idiotic new law to criminals.

You present a romantic caravan. I saw these when I was a little girl and I decided when I grew up I would be a gypsy. I told my Mother and she said she didn't think there were any any more. She obviously thought they had all been killed and was of course wrong.

The difference between you and me. You stereotype people and have no knowledge of them apart from your stereotype. This was the very thing which allowed what was done to the Jews and the Roma in WW2 to happen.

It's a sequence of events, first they cross the border in Hungary, and some of them did manage to make it through some didn't because of the erected border fences, and normally while in Hungary waiting for entry into the EU they have to stay there and because they don't have a home and don't have jobs as source for income they live on the streets, I'm talking about the would be migrants from the Conflict zones in the Arab world.

That's exactly what you're doing too, isn't it - making out all Roma to be imbued with altruism, salt of the earth, and the kind of people you'd like to live next door to? Anyhoo back to my question - would you feel stupid if the scenario I presented happened to you?

It's interesting they feel the need to travel across three or four different countries before they settle on a destination country.

I could say almost reach their destination they don't like to stay their in Hungary most probably their final destination perhaps Germany, France, Italy, etc., but unfortunate for them they're being held there in Hungary.
