    I can't reply.

    I'm currently on thin ice.

How could there not be a "before"?

Any less presumptive than - -

perhaps only in ratios of other elements within the lead might assist in dating a chunk of lead. But its at the end of the isotope chain so if we every do discover a quantum method it'll be pretty damn cool.

Randomness as applied to anything isn't a process at all, just a placeholder for ignorance.
Given which came first, we can see that the latter can never be prescriptive, only descriptive.
You're under the impression, perhaps, that absence of evidence equals evidence of absence?

Matter/energy pre-existed the big bang because it can neither be created nor destroyed.

What form that matter/energy took is unknown.

Clever words but only that and nothing more. Absence of evidence fails to hold up in a court of law. One never makes such an absurd claim to the judge. "We know he's guilty, we just have an absence of evidence. But we'll find it you betcha, Your Honor!"

When you do, get back to me, huh? Meanwhile, fork over more money for SETI, mmmkay?

Nope; it depends on the life cycle of the oldest stars. The universe can't be older. But more important, it can't be younger. :)

It is too discouraging to spend time crafting a post, thread, or reply, only to have a biased mod delete it or close it with a click. The posters i have no problem with.. it is the enablers and behind the curtain censors that chaps my hide.. ;)

I don't mind the outrage.. the ad hom.. the furious indignation that progressive indoctrinees display.. it makes my points, most of the time. But my posts just disappearing, with no appeal.. guilt by accusation.. guilty until proven innocent.. just flies in the face of my American sensibilities. My only recourse is boycott. I hate to do it, as one of fewer fading voices set against the juggernaut of Progressivism, but the deck is stacked, and it seems futile to try to resist them in their own house.

They dominate and control most institutions in the world. Internet forums are certainly targets for their exclusive propaganda streams.

Have you ever considered the obvious alternate explanation?

Quite simply put, you hold easily debunked beliefs and react very negatively when this is pointed out. I imagine your posts get deleted due to this negativity crossing the lines into insult and other aspects of communication that bend or break established rules. Basically we all have beliefs and opinions that run counter to each other, but most of us do not resort to childish and derogatory diatribe.

    Some thing to think about.

    When it comes to something to think about in this context I am reminded of this saying;

It is far more constructive to analyse the problem and find solutions than to blame others, especially when that blame is misplaced.

All of us are responsible for the content of our own posts without exception.

It is entirely possible that my image above could be misconstrued and as such I could have my post deleted. In that instance I would accept that it went too far and refrain from using it again.

What I would NOT do is to bemoan that it was deleted and place the blame elsewhere because I am entirely responsible for the content of my own posts.

See, i don't mind this. I expect it. It comes with offering views contrary to the Official Progressive Mandates.

Do i shy away from your snarky, belittling comments? Hardly. I pull the pins in your ad hom grenades and throw them back.. ;)

But i don't mind. Pile on.. your opportunities to bash me will probably dwindle..

You keep complaining of being attacked when not attacked, then play on peoples emotions while making veiled threats of Boycott.....Just Freakin' Do It! This mini violin solo is boring and sad.

If you want us to tell you how terribly much you will be missed, I am reminded of a Joke:

"How do you keep a moron in suspense...…….?"

How? How? Tell me, i must know!!

    :roflol:

..no threats, here. Just a long tearful goodbye. :blushes:
I've boycotted before, for a few months or a year, but i always give another chance. This time was too blatant and biased. Closing a thread from a false accusation of plagiarism. Deleting posts for vague accusations of 'group insult!' ..maybe I'll come back, as i have ~ 7 yrs of posting here, and warm, loving friends like you to keep me balanced, but the behind the curtain manipulations take their toll. My time has some value, i tell myself, in my vain quest for significance.

Anyway, if you don't hear from me again, that is why.. ..like you cared, anyway.. ;)

My 'territory' seems to be dwindling fast, as the forces of censorship are picking it up a notch. :D

Ah well.. best to keep everything in perspective...and definitely not take things seriously..

Science absolutely does not preclude a "before" - or a "beside" either.

In fact, science doesn't preclude an eternity.

IN FACT, science has no opinion about some fabulous supernatural eternal intelligence no matter how amazin you propose that to be.

Let's settle down and try to recognize that there isn't some sort of legitimate war between religion and science.

It's certainly true that various religions propose things for which there is no scientific evidence, but that's not the same thing at all.

Let me answer the question attached to your post that asks what happened before the big bang. Einstein theorized that space and time are really one single thing. Time began when space began. There is no such thing as "before" the big bang because time hadn't begun. Note that this is theory. Not proven. The concept comes from mathematics. That is the currently accepted theory. I realize the religious people will argue that this isn't proven and they will be correct.

Absolutely. I usually put "before" in quotes like that to indicate that time is a part of our universe - not an independent entity.

I do think there is reason to suggest that our big bang with it's time+space could have been born in some larger envionment. It's hard for us to test that, obviously.

As we all know, these are mysteries which may work mathematically but may not work at all physically. Theoretical physics is a fairly crazy pursuit. I know it would frustrate me if I did it.

Amen to all of that. I'm happy being an engineer, and consantly impressed by what experimental scientists figure out.
