NK killed him. I wonder what we (the U.S.) will do? "Otto Warmbier, University of Virginia student who was detained in North Korea for nearly a year and a half, died Monday afternoon, his parents announced." https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...rth-korean-detainment/?utm_term=.bdcae281de4a
Thrill-seekers like Warmbier who do very dangerous things like base jumping, going into the craters of active volcanoes and visiting North Korea are TSTL. Warn them, then say "I told you so" after they perish.
Yeah that country is absolute crap, unless something dramatic were to change I will for the rest of my life vote for eternal sanctions.
At least he got to pass surrounded by his loved ones, and they got a chance to say goodbye...and a chance to visit him in his final resting place. I'm also glad the current administration worked so hard to bring this young man home, even with predictable results. As for N Korea, I can't say anything about that.
lol, I actually have been to a Rodman house party in Neport Beach. My sister was in the Teen USA pagent and he invited her, her friend and I in to hang out (I was 17, she was 21, he was .... I dunno). But he was unbelievably nice to me and actually super down to earth and well spoken. With that said, I think he is a publicity whore for the whole NK thing
Rodman committed a mortal sin in my eyes; he had Carmen Electra and let her go. My condolences go out Warmbier family. I wonder if they knew their son was going to NK and if they tried to stop him.
The State Department warns everyone about the dangers of traveling to North Korea. He went despite the oppression of N. Korea well known and warned up.
Very, very sad and could easily break a person's heart. But If I was in his condition { I would consider it like Hell } I would no longer want to live.Life has no meaning in that brain dead state. It also would be an extreme situation for family & friends to have to wait around in hopes of some small recovery,if any. We often treat our pets with more humanity than actual humans. We do not want them to suffer needlessly. Nothing at all good came out of this young man's release from the hellhole known as North Korea. North Korea will have to pay a price for this. At Our Country's choosing.
Personally, I'd like to see Trump drop one of those über-gigantic, Massive Ordnance Air Blast bombs right on top of the Kim Jong-un palace in Pyongyang. This bomb made quite an impression on those rag-heads in Afghanistan last April, and we all know how funny little Kimmy loves a grand spectacle.... . "Hey, Kimmy -- have a nice f*cking day, ya rotten little gook bastard!"
Poor kid. He went to a dangerous place and didn't respect their laws. Unfortunately the exuberance of youth can get you killed. very sad. I have a friend who went to NK. I wouldn't want to go there. My ex and I considered going to Iraq as contractors when the war ended. Glad we didn't do that! Many of those guys got their heads cut off.
NK has never been about NK. It has always been about China. We could wipe out NK in a few days were it not for them. That's why the Korean war is still going. The Chinese kept throwing bodies at our machine guns until the guns overheated. They just kept coming.
Yep, those bastards murdered him. One of the darkest and most brutal books I have ever read is Escape from Camp 14: One Man's Remarkable Odyssey from North Korea to Freedom in the West: https://www.amazon.com/Escape-Camp-14-Remarkable-Odyssey/dp/0143122916 It's nigh impossible to grasp just how awful North Korea and the Kim regime are, but that book will give you a glimpse into the abyss...
Especially Americans. I hate to say it but that kid might be a finalist for this year's Darwin Awards. Still, he didn't deserve to get murdered over stealing a propaganda poster...
