    NFL ratings take a knee

The final ratings are in for the NFL's regular season, and the TV audience shrank 10%.

The NFL politicized itself and alienated many fans.

That is assuming there were no other factors that reduced viewership there may have been there may not have been.

Sure it was just politicizing and not any of the other myriad of things that would cause people to turn away, like poor gameplay, poor officiating, NFL Red zone access, etc?

I could care less if a few Billionaires lose a couple Million ... but Vegas is raking in the Bets, so obviously people are sill interested.

Generally industries want to grow ten percent, not shrink 10%.

Pure coincidence that when they started acting like *******s that their audience shrank. No obvious linkage to *******ness at all!

    Audiences were already shrinking, IIRC.

Like I said, it's a mix of things. When people can live stream or just tune into RedZone instead of watching full games that can be boring at times, it's no surprise. Not helping is people who watch games on TV are pounded with commercials after every change of possession and officiating that is extremely questionable and even favors certain teams (cough *Pats* cough*)

have to admit, not sure what was wrong with the cleats as do not follow sports, but it was during the game, the kneeling was before the game

maybe republicans did not like them cause they were red like the starbucks coffee cups

seems like the drop was about the time the news about brain damage came out
but then again, do they really monitor our tv viewership to know exact counts and even if they did, how would they know how many viewers per tv

Conservatives had their "Hey, what the hell is going on here!?!" moment when the NFL while very receptive to BLM refused to let the Dallas Cowboys honor the police officers that died in the mass shooting during the war on cops.

The award isn't for the Military ...

Person of the Year is an annual issue of the United States news magazine Time that features and profiles a person, a group, an idea, or an object that "for better or for worse... has done the most to influence the events of the year"
