OVAL OFFICE FIGHT: President Trump, Chuck Schumer And Nancy Pelosi ARGUE Over Border Wall Funding

I watched it for the third time (great entertainment) and Trump was restrained and did well. Only eight major lies in fourteen minutes. Real progress there. Nancy peat up on Trump pretty good and Schumer's eye contact was fine when he was making a point. When Trump went on and on and on he just spaced out. Hell, I wouldn't have been that nice.

Yes, but not just campaign promises, everything Trump says and every one of his tweets are taken literally by the critical left. I've noted this before, Trump comes from an environment that involves a lot of salesmanship, developing casinos and resorts requires a lot of 'hustling', we've seen Trump do this repeatedly, he comes on strong, bargains and compromises to achieve the deal. All of Trump's statements of policy are perceived as outrageous by the critical left, things like threatening to nuke North Korea, calling for a trade war, then he gets to the dickering.

Some may have, but I think most people just want the wall, they don't want the wall only if Mexico pays for it. I also think Trump's claim Mexico will pay for it is rhetorical, a salesman's flourish.

There have been no negotiations with Mexico over wall funding. Reasonable people who don't take Trump literally expect Mexico would simply reject any demand for payment and refuse to negotiate about this, presented with a bill, Mexico would just disregard it. Does anyone think Mexico would value good relations with the US worth billions to build a wall? How much is a good relationship with Mexico worth to the US? The latest from Trump is that the Mexican money for the wall is in the new NAFTA deal.

Fact based evidence isn't a popular thing in trumpland, especially when inflammatory rhetoric, factual distortions and out right lies works so well on themselvesl.

Transparency? Exactly how stupid does trump and his boot licking toadies think the world is? Well in a way I guess trump's administration is transparent since there are so many criminal and ethical investigations into it. Lessee campaign finance, financial irregularities, russian/campaign collusion, obstruction of justice.

I can see how you'd be so proud of trump's unwavering quest for transparency.

Yeah, I have a reasonably good record. I'm not aways right, and I have no idea how the Trump tragedy will end.

But it will end in tragedy. Of that, I have never been in any doubt.

I think this is clearly incorrect, if you compare the difference in NAFTA versus Trump's new agreement.

Sure Mexico can keep saying that they did not pay, but clearly, they did pay for their decision to not help fund the wall.

Thank you for all of that - but it isn't anything I didn't know. Trump being a salesman, not a politician...not to be taken literally. But I'm afraid it doesn't wash - at least not with me. When a campaigning politician says something, it should be taken at face value - not open for interpretation.

And obama, actually accomplished things, in spite of it. tRUMP can't even get the party he belongs to to go along with him to get something done.

That said, a president shouldn't make decisions on poll numbers. He should make decisions in the best interest of the United States. And 5 billion is several fold times less than the stimulus that you bragged about(the ineffective stimulus, might I add.)

That said, I've grown a great chasm and disappointment in my fellow Americans. You've succeeded in uprooting an administration, great job on that front. As you've wished, the markets are volatile again. After a brief pause, we will be "warmhearted" and "welcoming" to people who sex traffick and put kids in vulnerable positions, just to better themselves.

The US as a nation, is pretty much finished. Oh sure, the land will still be here, we'll be drunk in debt but it becomes clear that Putin didn't need to interfere to guarantee the ruin of the United States.

 

Obama accomplished NOTHING that was of any lasting GOOD for the United States! That said, it appears more and more now that Trump may be forced out of office sometime in 2019 -- maybe before mid-summer.

Then you on the hyperliberal Left will have to deal with President Mike Pence, and you may not like that nearly so much as you think....

 

That VP job might be the most precious job in the world right now. With the Liberals/justice system aiming at deposing Trump, Pence can slide right on in and even if he doesn't get reelected, who cares? He has a year and a half to push through his agenda, backed by the Republican Senate.

I don't want to live in a religious theocracy anymore than the political plutocracy that Trump tried to undermine, but for liberals to support the political plutocracy they will accept what is in their minds a 'temporary' religious theocracy.
