    More fear baiting.

Folks like you would have had us in a negotiated peace with Japan by Dec 12th

Yeah there are people who believe a virus than has no effect on 80% of the population and will have a death rate well under 1% is not worth closing the world down for.

And the updated numbers are proving us right day after day.

The updated numbers might be confirming that what are are doing is working. Are you saying that reports of over-run hospitals are not true? Holyshit some people are dense as f.

Yes while taking precautions and protecting the most at risk.

The lesser of two evils by far.

How do you know it won’t be, you have no control group.

    https://www.cnn.com/2020/04/07/health/ihme-updated-covid19-model/index.html

Amazing how the predictions keep dropping. And before you start, these were predictions with the precautions are are already taking modeled in, so it’s not dropping because of those precautions.

    Over hyped from day 1.

I have science. All you need to do is reduce contact by 60% and R0 goes below 1.

These updated numbers are from lowering predictions based on models including what we are doing. Therefore if those models were overstated and over hyped then the predictions and models where we did not shut down the country are as well.

I have economics. All you have to do is not shut down the economy and the death rate, violence and suffering from poverty goes down. And that is just in the US.

The 3rd world will see even worse.

But I thought you wanted to protect the vulnerable population.
    Did you change your mind?
Because if you didn't you wouldn't be able to find enough people to run the economy anyway.
Do you think this is some elaborate plot just to mess with you?

Your vastly over estimating the number of at risk people who work for staters. Secondly if those at risk want to venture out they should be able too. Thirdly even if 1/2 of the economy that is currently shut down was up and running it would be better than what we are doing.

No i think like most liberals you react in emotion and “feel good” not logic. It’s a common trait of the left. The problem is the short sighted nature of that. You think you are saving lives when in fact your just delaying. Trading less viral related deaths now for more economical upheaval deaths. It’s a bad deal.

Not sure what that means but I will when this ends. Right now it's 7 days a week work for me due to this. Go to see things turning for the better on the East Coast. Sooner people calm down the sooner we can start recovering and limit the damage.

What a load of BS. There would not be bodies in the street. More baseless senseless fear mongering.

The same BS where people were going to be dying in the hallways of hospitals lying on the floor as all the beds would be full.

And who are they? Every smoker, every overweight person, every drinker, every unfit person, every asthmatic, every person over 50, every cancer patient, every person who might have some other illness going on, etc etc. Want me to continue?

    Age....

It's been made crystal clear who is at most risk. Those of advanced age.

You can not protect everyone, you make rational judgements. If anybody wants to stay at home then they can based on whatever criteria they feel puts them at risk.

Now would you like me to start listing who will suffer and possibly die by the economic landslide this is causing? Because it's not limited to age, medical condition or any of the other factors you listed. It's everyone.

    1) Thus putting everyone around them at risk. Sorry, no. That's exactly how this thing went berserk in America. You either want it ended, or you don't.

    2) A changed economy is a small price to pay for prevention of a worldwide collapse of health systems and millions of deaths.

    A changed economy?
    Comical.

The only people who would be at risk are those out in public, because they choose to be. Personal responsibility and freedom.
