P&G Urges Men to Lose Their ‘Toxic Masculinity’ in Gillette Razor Ad

It's a free country and free speech is still here. It doesn't mean I want to hear it. Would you listen to Chick Fila playing portions of a Billy Graham sermon?

 

Meh, says who? Perhaps being able to bully is a good thing. Who are the jackasses at Gillette to say?

 

I still don’t see it watched a few times now and can’t understand why so much outrage. Find it extremely ironic that a company that has made a fortune helping men to look more feminine is getting so much heat over this commercial.

 

If you don't want to hear it, I suggest you press skip on the ad when five seconds are up. That doesn't mean their ad is wrong just because a few right-wing snowflakes on the internet can't stand harassment and bullying being addressed.

 

The ad was saying that you shouldn't bully and you should stand up to those being bullied. How is Gillette being a jackass for agreeing with this? I thought everyone agreed with this.

 

This is rich from someone belonging to the side that ignores the rapes, assaults and murders by ilkegals both here in Mexico.

With that logic The Birth of a Nation is an anti-bullying ad.

 

Because they only showed men. Last I checked they makes women’s razors too and women bully and harrass people just as badly as men. They just don’t get called out the same. And they specifically showed white males as the worst, and as an editor I can tell you every single shot was scrutinized. Not a single choice was accidental or unplanned.

It’s not the message. It’s how the message was played. This ad hits men, specifically white men, as those who need to smarten up. If an ad pointed out women or any other particularly race as “bad” in any way, there would be bricks flying through windows and the MSM calling for charges filed against the CEO.

 

As a communications professional I can only marvel at the stupidity of that ad - insulting your customers is never a smart and effective marketing strategy. To anyone with a lick of common sense it comes as no surprise that the response to this overwhelmingly negative ad has been overwhelmingly negative. Another thing that hardly comes as a surprise is that this ad came from a company based in Boston.

On a broader level, what we have here is another example of how the "progressive" Nihilists in this country can't resist their hateful and destructive impulses. In this case, it's tearing down men. What a miserable lot...

I am one of the most vocal border security proponents here, I just don’t think partial walls by failed concepts will do it. So take your outrage and do what you will.

 

This ad was only aimed at men, their biggest customer base, it even exclusively shows the heroes being men too. As for race, they aren't perfect, but one of the men saying "boys will be boys" is black, and some of the heroes are white men, and many of the victims are white boys. The ad was only going after men who bully and harass, and men who looked the other way, and idolized men who stood up and did something about it. As long as you are in the latter group, the ad is more of a compliment than anything else.

 

The birth of a nation is about the civil war and its aftermath not bullying directly.

 

If you only look at it superficially, it makes perfect sense, but you simply can't just do that, when you really see exactly what's going on. You have to notice all the subtle and well crafted propaganda. They purposely chose white men as the majority of the bad examples. That wasn't accidental. Didn't show any obvious Muslims by the way who are THE WORST offenders. And they played on stereotypes, which goes directly against what leftists hate, but then they didn't when it came to the aforementioned Muslims. And that Music video that was shown, SHOULD have been a gangster rap video, but they didn't. Nope...it was a RARE white gangsta video. So many of those out there, hehe. What happened to the stereotypes? How convenient=) The VAST majority of men are NOT anything like what they portrayed. NOTHING. And yes, this was aimed at men. Do you think they will follow this up with one blasting women? I highly doubt it, because women do NOTHING wrong=) They're just poor victims who can't stand up to themselves. They even put it in the ad. The poor woman who just sat there doing nothing at the table during the meeting. Wouldn't a strong woman just ask what everyone didn't understand. Nope? She sat there and took it....now who's fault is that? AND I've NEVER seen a mansplaining in person in the office in 25+ yrs. But I have seen women do it, especially if you're at parties with married couples Guarantee the wife will correct her husband 1000X more than the other way around.

I've been using Dollar Shave Club for a number of years and will continue to, so I don't have to change my behavior now that I know bullying is wrong and masculinity is bad. I love their response to the ad=) Thanks Gillette for WOMANSPLAINING to me what I was taught by my father. Whooops, my Dad is in his 70s, so he was part of the problem, hehe. Darn old white men keeping women down for all those years. Keeping them out of tech(even though women just aren't interested in it in anywhere near the ratios of guys). They stopped them from starting law firms or prevented them from becoming doctors, and it goes on and on and on. Stupid women shouldn't have chosen teaching or social services and other lower paying jobs, that stopped them from taking over the world=) If only men didn't force women to choose careers that pay less, there wouldn't be "gender pay gap", another lie. It just goes on and on and on.

You just have to take off the blinders to see what Progressives are trying to do. They are literally trying to weaken men, so that women can catch up. Convince them all that masculinity is bad. Aggressiveness is bad, even though THAT's exactly what women are being taught now...to be more aggressive. Who knew being assertive leads to more success? But ONLY tell the boys to be less aggressive. Tell the girls they need to stand up MORE and fight for their rights MORE. Now why would they do this? To push men down obviously. Its not like its hidden. Female leadership is saying it right out in the open. Now combine this with purposely and strategically preventing men from succeeding, by accepting them to college less then women and instituting hiring practices that favor less qualified women, and its all very easy to see what's going on. Again, you just have to observe patterns. Look how white males specifically are portrayed now in media. Violent, evil, or bumbling idiots...BAAAAD. Look at how women are ONLY portrayed now. Strong, leaders, decisive, ect. That's all GOOOOOD. Its very basic but coordinated propaganda to push men aside. Because family life will be so fantastic once men can't find jobs, which makes them so much more attractive to women...because women mostly go for guys with less prospects. Actually, women don't need men at all. They should just have kids alone...because that works out SO WELL in reality. Fatherless homes are proven to churn out much more horrible kids on average. But who cares about that. Men are BAD when they're there and BAD when they're not there apparently. We just suck, and need to be told that over and over and OVER again=)

 

I'm floored this has to be explained to you. Let's start with the basics. Toxic is being used as an adjective to masculinity. An adjective is used to describe attributes of a noun.

Since neither sexism nor bullying are exclusive to males the phrase toxic masculinity is a fabricated phrase with no basis in reality because those attributes are asexual in nature.

And 2 boys roughhousing is not a negative process so to attack that just shows how idiotic these morons are, first making up a phrase that cannot exist then attacking behavior that is normal and not negative.

Sexism and bullying of course are not but are NOT attributes of masculinity and if anyone is stupid enough to believe they are then they must have slept through 5th grade english.

 

This is the first step in the process of Gillette attempting to get men to shave their legs.

Long ago I tried to get Guun to shave her legs but she wouldn't as that would have been un-Scandinavian.

 

And the vast majority were raised by women.

 

It assumes all men are jerks and the whole ad isn't asking everyone to be better - just men.
