It does not reflect well on your company when you blame sluggish pizza sales on people exercising their right to protest. Apparently, Papa John's stock has dropped 15% since that moment. This is the second company to issue an apology for getting involved in politics in nearly as many days. Keurig issued an apology after that company faced backlash from the hard right for backing away from Sean Hannity's show, which initially defended a child pedophile (but no longer does so).

Lmao so they aren’t backing down from their assessment? Imagine that. Doesn’t really seem like much of an apology to me.

So they pick a side and then jump to the other side. Way to piss off everyone on both sides of the issue.

I dont think the America hating left will accept Papa John’s apology

But the company will lose any good will it might have had from conservatives also

Thats a lose-lose for the pizza tosser and his company

    This will help

"We will work with the players and league to find a positive way forward. Open to ideas from all. Except neo-nazis - (middle finger emoji) those guys."

So that means they can’t protest? The NFL are slave owners? I’m really confused as to how that stops anyone from protesting...

Corporations are, inherently, amoral entities. Any public pose they assume is based upon profit, not morality.

If there are private concerns such as arise in the case of Hannity defending a sexual predator, they are best resolved privately, between sponsor and performer.

Corporate executives, in their capacity as concerned members of society, are free to express their personal views, but corporate morality does not exist.

ATTEMPTING to deny the right to protest are many bigots, even here on the internet, led by one Donald J. Trump who advocated that the players be fired for taking a knee.

Keep up with the news Russ, lest you be seen as uninformed.

You do not consider a threat of job removal to be a form of denial? Is that really such a confusing mental leap?

They don’t count though, they deny the free speech of the “right people” so it’s all good. You know, like Ben Shapiro who they call a Nazi...

Uh oh, now the Trumpists won't use their Keuregs or eat Papa Johns pizza. What to do? I know, I know. Just take a knee.

...you think the President has no power over the NFL?

Setting aside that he operates the bully pulpit, that every word he says gets broadcast by all news organizations, that he can push for legislation or sign executive orders, the man also threatened to rebuke the NFL tax exempt status.

"just" exercising his freedom of speech, sure.
