the economy will be miserable the next 4 years. Its amazing that we had a guy who has run businesses and turned things around, and he gets voted down. The people want free stuff.

Papa John’s Pizza CEO John Schnatter is pretty business savvy and the pizza chain is now offering customers the ability to purchase Swift’s new album and a large, one-topping pizza for $22 and fast-food chains are most affected by Obamacare as they cannot afford to cover health insurance costs for their employees and some companies announced a hiring freeze after Obama's re-election victory.

Is this the guy who was saying that Obamacare will raise the price of his junk-pie 15 cents? I find it interesting that republicans complain that government makes employers to cover employees but completely ignore the fact that just for 15 cents on 9.99$ pizza employer refuses to give health insurance....

ObamaTax may make full-time jobs the exception rather than the rule.

What's to stop other businesses from doing something like this?

Who cares.. they have lousy pizza.

My friend who is worth 60 million called me to rant about the lost election.. I told him that my driver who works for Kroger still couldn't get 40 hours after 2 years unless he joined the union... and he is an outstanding employee.

He countered with.... I know the CEO and chaiman of the board of Kroger so you know I will check out your lies. I said, by all means... do so.

I have never seen such total idiocy.

    Boo-hoo!

Our equivalent of 3rd world sweatshop operators are going to have to provide insurance. OH NOES!

the WORST case is to pay the $2000 annual fine if employees get government subsidized insurance, which amounts to $1/hour pay raise for the employees. If they are ALL only paid minimum wage, that's barely 13%.

Now, tell us how come the price of a pizza raises 14 % because the owner gives a 14% raise to ONLY 2/3 of his employees?

Why? Because the owner has to pocket PROFIT on the increased employee costs. And he is a BSer. All of these shops ALREADY have all the labor working part time.

I have an idea, you start a business, give all the Papa John's employees full time jobs plus benefits, and give away your profits.

Boo Hoo ! I hope you lose your job and your family starves

Making healthcare universal and supported by national salestax on junk food, tobacco and alcohol would fairly punish the nation's worst human-health offenders and establish a superfund for healthcare for all US citizens. Any shortfalls could be made up with nominal co-pays.

This would lift the burden off all business. It would remove the fear-factor for would-be entrepreneurs. It would free-up a significant portion of the monthly family income now spent on private premiums and allow families to consume more actual goods and services with monies currenly monopolized by private insurers and drug companies. All these things would create a huge upswing in productivity and ergo, jobs.

Such a simple solution. And who is fighting it? The private health insurance and drug company lobbiests. Who else?...lol You'd think other monopolies like BigOil and Wallmart would be furious with the competition for the dwindling US Family Budget?

Maybe they should support Universal, single payer healthcare. Then they wouldn't have to provide healthcare to their employees.

Well as fascinating as it is to get a glimpse into the banterings between you and your "60 million" dollar friend, who obviously was thrilled to hear from you, I do agree the pizza at Papa Johns suck. Glad to hear your black driver is doing well.

The petulant progressive accusing the adult business owner of being a cry-baby, how Orwellian.

This is just uninformed speculation. You have no idea what you're talking about.

What makes you think he's unique in his quest for the bottom line? I submit, everyone who can cuts employee's hours, fires people or raises employee's contributions. Or, if they are big enough, donates to Obama and gets waivers. You Libs are so naive, it's scary sometimes.

The US already has "universal healthcare". Medicare pays for seniors, Medicaid for the poor, S-CHIP (and others) for children; the private system and state programs cover the rest. Nobody is denied life-saving or immediate care in this country.

Actually, it would place a greater tax burden on businesses. There are no free lunches.

Progressives are the "fear-factor" for employers.

Speculation and demonization are all you have, it seems.

I have already shown you data that contradicts your claim of superior cost-effectiveness. Not that any rigorous analysis is required, though, as Europe's never-ending debt crisis demonstrates clearly the immense cost of socialized healthcare.
