The East African Rift that formed the Dead Sea is at least 50 million years old.

I take what you are trying to say is that the realities shown by scientific understanding are little more than assumption?

By the way....many mountain ranges ARE millions of years old, though most of this age have eroded quite a bit and are now hills.

" Several lines of evidence indicate that rocks of the Greater Himalaya and the crystalline thrust sheets were re- gionally metamorphosed during early Paleozoic time. Stöcklin and Bhattarai (1977) and Stöcklin (1980) reported that the Palung and related Cambro-Ordovician granites in central Nepal were emplaced after regional garnet-grade metamor- phism. Marquer et al. (2000) reported similar relations in the Greater Himalaya of northern India, where sillimanite- and kyanite-bearing schists were regionally folded prior to intru- sion of the ca. 488 Ma Kinnaur Kailas granite. Early Paleozoic metamorphism in Greater Himalayan rocks has been dated directly in northern India at ca. 534 Ma (Sm-Nd on garnet; Argles et al., 1999), in the northwest Himalaya at ca. 467 Ma (Foster, 2000), in central Nepal at ca. 484 Ma (U-Pb on mona- zite and zircon; Godin et al., 2001), and in eastern Nepal at ca. 436–548 Ma (Th-Pb on monazite; Catlos et al., 2002). So are you denying that the Bible is wrong that there never existed places like Egypt, Babylon, Assyria, Persia, Canaan, no Sodom or Gomorrah, no Jericho?
Are you also saying that dinosaurs did not disappear suddenly base on atheist scientist claim that they did if that is the case then all their claims are false, no land bridge, no earthquakes, no volcanic eruption, no ice age etc.??

Not at all.. Those places existed.. certainly .. that's why you should study geology, archeology and history.. Those places existed independent of Jewish history.

    Land bridges collapsed? NO.

The dinosaurs didn't disappear all at once.. .. and no one makes that claim. Birds are the remnant of the dinosaurs.

You cannot write a grammatical sentence, you write the most outrageous falsehoods, and yet you know more than all the scientists on earth?

And no, your made up nonsense is not what I was saying.

I don't care what scientists say, it's all theory. The bible does not have a dinosaur, therefore, there is and never was a dinosaur.

Quote Posted by Akhlut on pg. 45 #426 of Part 3

Because without proof, there is no reason to believe. Werewolves, leprechauns, YHWH, Zeus, Thor, Kali, Amaterasu, the Rainbow Serpent, and so on are all things I don't believe in for want of evidence. Why should I believe without proof?
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

First off, werewolves, leprechauns, Zeus, Thor, Kali, Amaterasu, the Rainbow Serpent are all understood by most as being fictional characters.

If people make the claim they are for real, believe me I won't ask them for proof because I don't care about those ficticious characters.
Now if you demand proof concerning Almighty God, I'm sorry to say I can't give it to you. This thread that I started is not about proving anything, it's about answering questions concerning the Christian faith. (God/Jesus/Holy Bible)

Furthermore as I mentioned at the beginning of the thread I am not here to convert anyone so it's not like I want you to believe, believing is all up to an individual.

You say you want evidence and believe me there are lots of evidence but of course it is not good enough for you so you deny them.

Believe me you will not get the evidence you seek that will be the ultimate proof. God is not going to come visit you one night to prove to you He is for real.

After all of the billions upon billions of people who ever lived on this earth why would He come visit you just to prove to you He is for real?

People come to believe in Him through faith not proof.

There may be a god. Belief in, faith in such does not depend on belief in nonsense like the flood.
Why do you have to link them? It taints everything you say when you mix the real, surreal and
utterly phony all in the same paragraph.

You're in real trouble now. I have it on good authority from the United Irish Union of Sacred Leprechauns that they have put a price of 2 gold Leprechaun coins on your head. If you can avoid the bounty hunters:fingerscrossed until the coins disappear you should be safe.:fingerscrossed::wink:

Christians are not required to park their brains at the door and believe fairy tales. These are teaching narratives not history or science. Being a Christian is a walk of faith after all.

That does not include faith that one somehow knows more than all the scientists on earth.

    Or does it?

Of course not... Faith not a contest with science and education. Even the Jewish sages said that if science contested the story.. science won.

The stories are about God's love and redemption... not about history.

It was NEVER a book.. It was a collection of writings by many, many authors in no particular order.. The OT is the invented history of the Jews. It is teaching narrative. The theme is always the same.

    Disobedience, God's love and redemption.
