One does not need to know the details of your eyewitness account for everything I said to be true of eyewitness accounts. Nor did any of those ideas I posted originate with me, making your claims regarding my personal expertise a bit irrelevant. The things I said are facts, regardless of what I had for breakfast this morning.

 

The claimos on the table regarding the Dogon are that they knew extrasolar planets and other stars existed.

Obviously this claim is absurd. Atno point did they delineate anything even approaching an accurate description of planetary movement within our own solar system, much less in other systems. At no point did they possess that technology or the ability to even resolve the surface of the Moon or another planet in our solar system, much less describe bodies outside of our solar system. they did not know the Earth was round. They did not know the sun was a star. They did not even know what a planet was, much less that other planets besides ours existed.

 

That's quite a collection of all the knowledge that the Dogon seemed to lack. My preliminary search turned up a few explanations indicating Dogon familiarity with solar system characteristics.

There are arguments that the Dogon awareness of the count of moons around Jupiter is off.

The man who spent many years gaining the trust of the Dogon priests who conveyed their cosmological knowledge to him is said to have found rock paintings in their homeland depicting the solar system with its planetary orbital patterns. Another source cites a Dogon guard of a cave containing such paintings.

 

Links between ancient cultures are not in any way evidence of aliens from outer space.

None of what you just provided supported any of your allegations quoted above.

That's nice, but my awareness (or lack there of) has no bearing on the fact that the Dogon had no such awareness.

You are free to respond tto the reasoning i presented, which would give anyone a degree of awareness that such an ignorant people could not possibly have such awareness. Your whiny comments about me are not doing anything to that end.

My technology is far superior. So is yours, despite your level of education or lack there of. Either of us (even if one of us were highly educated, and the other a high school dropout) could look through a $5 set of binoculars and piece together what Galileo did. The ignorant Dogon had no such technology and zero awareness of the composition of stars or the motion or even existence of planets.

So if you see a bear in the woods and on the way back you encounter another hiker, or hikers, you should tell them about the bear, as a warning, or do you have to provide mountains of evidence that there's a bear in the woods???

It's the same way with the aliens and UFOs.

 

No it isn't, and what a terrible analogy. For one, claiming a bear exists in the woods is not an extraordinary claim and has been proven true many times over, whereas claiming aliens live among us is an extraordinary claim for which there is not a shred of evidence.

Furthermore, should the hiker not proceed into.the woods, it would be from an abundance of caution because of a mundane event with evidential basis: I.e., a bear dwelling in a forest. If you warned them that a pink unicorn was flinging poisonous poo at humans....I doubt they would adopt the same abundance of caution.
