During the Syrian civil war I've helped sponsor two Syrian families to Canada. One family through a Synagogue in Vancouver and another through the Anglican Church who sponsored a number of families in various parts of the country. Anyway it seems Paypal doesn't like Syrian refugees. After I tried to make a donation using Paypal my account was suspended with a request that I "explain the transaction "Syrian Refugee Sponsorship"". I've refused and asked them to close my account. My feeling is that the political situation at the time (this is when opposition to Syrian refugees was at its peak in the US during the election) caused Paypal to overreact.
