I had a hard time getting into the first Bioshocks too. I fell in love with Infinite and figured that since the DLC is going to go back to Rapture I might as well finish up those games too. After awhile I got into the first, I just started the second one though, so hopefully I'll finish it before Burial at Sea comes out.

Yes! I love Paradox games. Playing Europa Universalis IV, Crusader Kings II, and Victoria II. I've been thinking of getting into Hearts of Iron, but I think I will wait for HoI IV to come out.

Been playing Old Republic since it came out, with some breaks here and there.

Was always a big fan of the KotOR single player RPGs and like this one a lot.

Used to play Wow, but it lost me around Lich king. Really liked it Vanilla and burning crusade. Was a lot of fun, then it just seemed more and more of the same. Then I saw they added Pandas.. yuck. Every now and then I'll try it out for a Month to see what's changed, and I get a short lived "hey that's cool"...and then it becomes the same and I'm just finished with it.

Really enjoy RTS games as well. The Dawn of War series, any of the total War games, Starcraft...and even some old Company of Heroes now and then.

X-Com 2 is coming soon, and I cant wait for that one.

I'm terrible at PvP stuff...just don't have the twitch reflexes anymore, so I stay away from the shooters for the most part. I just get torn up and berated by the younger generation there lol. bad enough to suck, but no one wants to Suck and then get berated and ridiculed for sucking. That being said, I am going to try Star Wars battlefront if my wife gets it for me for Christmas.

Tried a fun game on Steam called Nosgoth awhile back. it's set in the Legacy of Kain universe and features Vampires vs Human vampire Hunters. I loved it...until the day I heard someone in voice chat saying to his friends how much that guy sucks...guy being me. Once he said Why do we have to be stuck with you...I said...well you don't, and I logged out. gave up on that one...but it WAS pretty fun.

Grew up with an Atari 2600, and have been hooked on games ever since.

Just played Dark crusade the other day myself.

I agree, both of their franchises..DoW and CoH took a downturn for the "2"s IMO. They got dumbed down and just didn't seem as fun. Bad choices taken on hit franchises.

I like a couple of things in DoW 2, graphics obviously and I like the suppression added by MG's....but they lost so much. Less units...no base building..smaller maps (and less of them) with less real chokepoints to seal off. A lot of strategic element was lost for a closer tactical feel.

I stick with the originals now when I fire one up, just seems to be so much more to them that graphic improvements cant replace.

Just moved the Xbox back to the grandboys room for when they visit and got my PC games and peripherals back out for my mancave. The Xbox just doesn't do the flight Sims and racing games I like to play. I have an old MS Xbox force feedback wheel and the driving games are close but l like my G27 wheel and PC platform. Flight games just horrible on console. But give me my HOTAS and other controls and my Trackir and as cloase as you can get on the ground. Then the lack of stratgey war gaming. Advanced Tactics my current choice and combat sims like Dangerous Waters and Silent Hunter.

    To me PC still rules!

I used to play IL-2 all the time. Now I have switched to Iracing for the last 8 years. The best racing simulator ever. I have over 10k invested in equipment. A top line steering wheel today goes for $4500. Mine was only 1000 and my pedal set 1200 with hydraulic brakes. I use triple 27 inch monitors running at 120 hz with a chassis with a real race seat

Now that is bad! I just have the Logitech G27. I had forgotten about Iracing. Rfactor and the GTR series are the two I just loaded onto the new Computer. Wish I could find a Grand Prix Legends to run on Win10, THAT was the ultimate back in the days. Are you running a Nascar series program?

FSX, Il-2 and Rise of Flight the current flight sims. Have the DCL World stuff but the learning curves are so steep and time so little. Used to run ALL the Jane's series 20 years ago it seems.

I've heard EVE is pretty solid, but I don't fully get it.

I want to play HOI3 really badly. How good is it?

Don't play much at all anymore, if anything I will play Madden and sometimes indulge in a game of CoD . In my earlier years I had a wide variety of gaming both on console and PC. For consoles I used to be into final fantasy, all sports games, need for speed, GTA, and horror games . For PC was really just into stuff like counter strike or whatever was on Steam, then there was online poker and blackjack .

But yeah now I'm pretty retired.

WoW is hardly a "goody" at this point. Older versions on a private server can be good, though.

If you're a raider and like making a lot of gold, warlords has been a good expansion.

Making gold... lol. Who cares about game gold? Especially when the economy is so damned inflated.

Yay? It is interesting to see how well Blizzard's new approach to securing subscriptions to a failing game is working. Someone is paying your sub for you, and in fact at $20 (token price) instead of $15!

And all the while, the game is still boring and going nowhere good.

My favorite game franchise of all time is the Elder Scrolls, so I tend to spend a lot of time playing on the PC. (can't decide whether the number of hours I've spent on Skyrim should make me feel proud or ashamed.) I do play console-geared games too, though.

Had a room mate that brought home a Apple II back in 1980 or 81, and I literally stayed up all night playing Zork and Alkabeth (Lord British's 1st game). The next day I went out and bought my own Apple and fell asleep at it. Since then I have done more all nighters and weekenders than I care to admit. Although all nighter are a thing of the past I am active in both Elite Dangerous and Elder Scrolls Online. Mostly the latter since I tend to get tendinitis in my shoulder with long joystick sessions these days. I still have FPS reflexes however and enjoy some PvP occasionally when I want to channel my inner Luke Skywalker.

There is only one game necessary. ONLINE COUNTERSTRIKE. Graphics are awesome, physics is realistic. You are killing others, and they hate it.

There are many flavors of action.

I set out to dominate. I trained for a month. I practiced things that I determined would give me an advantage. I soon was so good, that they all thought I was hacking. I continue to progress, and man on man, I am almost unfaceable.

I used to play video games a lot when I was a kid. My favourite games were the NBA Live games and I liked other sports games. I also like beat em ups a Streetfighter 2 was my favourite.

I dont really like playing video games much these days other than the Total War series. I am kick ass at Total War.

edit - I have won the Rome Barbarian Invasion Total War game playing as the Romans on the most difficult setting. I am awesome.

    :)

New expansion is out for EU4. Rights of Man.
The game is without a doubt the best game ever made. My almost 1000 hours is a testament to that.
Civ 6 is coming soon as well... Although I have been massively disappointed by what I have seen.
