Now that ISIS has been mostly defeated in Syria, planning for the transition to peace and stability has begun. Russia, Turkey and Iran are planning the transition, but the US and Israel and Saudi decided to take a pass.

Reading between the lines, what does the US absence mean?

If they all do the rebuilding of that horror situation in Syria ......then the contracts are theirs. It would be no easy task.

Wonder what Trump and Putin talked about today. Seems they had a long conversation..before Trump departed for Florida.....and Thanksgiving holiday.

    ******

BTW: A very happy Thanksgiving Holiday weekend to all. ;-):hungry:

    ISIS & the Syrian Rebels

"Israeli Defense Minister Confirms Israel Backing Of ISIS in Syria"

    https://geopolitics.co/2017/04/27/israeli-defense-minister-confirms-israel-backing-of-isis-in-syria/

EXCERPT "Washington created and supports ISIS, along with other anti-government terrorists in Syria and elsewhere. NATO, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and other regional rogue states supply them with weapons and other material support.

So does Israel. In June 2015, the Times of Israel quoted former Israeli defense minister Moshe Ya’alon, saying

“(W)e’ve assisted (anti-government terrorist groups in Syria on) two conditions. That they don’t get too close to (Israel’s) border, and…don’t touch the Druze.”CONTINUED

How about "The Times of Israel"

"Israel acknowledges it is helping Syrian rebel fighters"

    http://www.timesofisrael.com/yaalon-syrian-rebels-keeping-druze-safe-in-exchange-for-israeli-aid/

EXCERPT "Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon said Monday that Israel has been providing aid to Syrian rebels, thus keeping the Druze in Syria out of immediate danger. Israeli officials have previously balked at confirming on the record that the country has been helping forces that are fighting to overthrow Syrian President Bashar Assad."CONTINUED

That the US want Assad out and that's always been a significant factor in US involvement.

Maybe it means the US is finally out of the nation building game. I fail to see how this is a bad thing.

Finally. A conflict where the West supports the right side and wins. I was getting sick of us supporting Sunni islamo-fascists. Shia regimes are secular.

And to all the conspiracy theorists going "but muh Russians", think about this : what do we have to gain from having a country run by medieval Sunni Islamists into total chaos? If "Russia wins", what do we lose?

Shia regimes are better for The West than Sunni regimes.

No state religion and freedom of religion. Christian minorities are well treated unlike in Sunni countries where they are persecuted. There are even Jewish minorities that are left alone in Iran and Syria, unlike in most Sunni countries where the Jews got ethnically cleansed.

For Muslim countries it's as secular as it gets.

Iran and Hezbollah haven't been a problem for the USA in decades.

they helped us defeat ISIS and they fight Al Qaeda.

they aren't exporting extremist doctrine throughout the West.

Syrian Christians towed the line in Syria.. Jews lived all over the Arab world.. They left in waves in 1948, 1956, 1967 and 1973.

the vast majority of terrorist attacks all over the world since 9-11-01 have been committed by SUNNI Muslims.

    Not Shia.

    that should tell you something.
