Pelosi's still calulating the cost versus the benefit. Nancy knows that by eliminating MTRs she can pass anything she wants to, and Schumer by eliminating the filibuster can ram it through the Senate. Only Joe's executive orders are likely to be impacted by the SCOTUS. I think Pelosi would rather abuse the power that she already has, than risk any kind of backlash from packing the court. I believe that will absolutely change either right before, or right after the mid terms, because Pelosi's not going to miss out on an opportunity to pack the SCOTUS.

It would be unlikely to happen unless the democrats widen their margins significantly in the midterms. Moderate democrats aren't keen on the idea and if they start down that road and the GOP gets back in control in 2024, they could potentially create a conservative supermajority in the SCOTUS even beyond what they have now.

that will only occur if we continue the nonsense of restrictions due to covid. Once voting reverts back to normal, the opportunity for Democrats to "win" goes away

If you think any COVID measures are ever going away you're in for a rude awakening.

Just when she couldn't seem to be any more batshit crazy, she goes and does something halfway sane....

Well, now the new talking point is out. All the liberals on here will fall in line even though last week they were all for it.

Because Republican voters are more likely to not show up at the polls, out of fear of Covid? Or because they refuse to wear masks, so are not allowed in polling places? I'm just pointing out that you didn't, very well, explain your meaning-- not as a criticism, but intended to make you aware of something that, if it were me who wanted to make my opinion known, I would appreciate learning.

I assume you were talking about relaxed restrictions on mail ballots, as well as extended early voting; these are not most clearly referred to as, "restrictions due to covid."

Not sure if that is a new talking point, because her view is at odds with some other Dems.

As a matter of fact there are only few who are "for it", and then some (like Harris, Warren, Buttigieg) are "open to it" and the rest (like Biden, Sanders, Gabbard, O'Rourke) are "opposed to it". It seems they are allowed to have their own opinions on it as opposed to being forced to "agree".

Republicans are more likely to always agree on everything, or at least pretend to.

Nice to see politicians who think for themselves, not just follow some party line because that's what they are expected to think, or at least express. Now, if only the Republican politicians would start thinking.....
Yes, that was a stab at Republicans, no, I'm not a Liberal.

Pelosi knows how to play politics. For every 10 stupid things she tries to pass she has to do ONE normal thing to silence the opposition. This is not really surprising.
