A former Pennsylvania police chief convicted of raping a child will spend at least the next 16 years behind bars. Brent Getz, 30, was sentenced to 16 to 32 years in prison Friday after his March conviction on rape and sexual abuse charges. Getz, was arrested in 2019 and fired as police chief in Weissport, a town of about 400 northwest of Philadelphia. Gregory Wagner, a codefendant, pleaded guilty to child rape in November 2020 and testified against Getz. https://nypost.com/2022/07/16/ex-cop-brent-getz-sentenced-up-to-32-years-for-child-rape/ How does this not come with a life sentence?
We live in an age of coddling criminals. You really don't think about criminal justice until it happens to you.
This is why people take issue with how protected leo’s are. The police union has almost made them untouchable and public perception has followed. At least they don’t do what the religious orgs do and hide it while moving them to new areas so they can spread their harm.
1. White privilege 2. "Protecting the children" is just a fun thing people like to say. They don't mean it.
Just in the past week, I've read five different articles about pedophiles being arrested. All of them were white and heterosexual. I wonder why the Hate Brigade never posts any of those arrests? Hmm. Quite curious.
That's typical. That's why the Capitol riot apologists are having hissy fits about those thugs being locked up. Getting a trial date takes time. Plus, the prosecutor(s) have to investigate and build their case. If the defendant has a Public Defender (note, there is no free legal service for victims of crimes) he or she has a mountain of cases to prepare. If white, male heterosexual men were not safe in their own homes or society, this would be resolved immediately.
No. My posting history will show I am vehemently opposed to the demonization of LGBT-Q as pedophiles. Non-heterosexuality has NOTHING to do with pedophilia but they like to conflate the two. It's dangerous. That's why this <censoring myself> was able to hide in plain sight.
The Police Union is there to protect the police, not their victims. The AMA is there to protect their licensees, not victimized patients. The APA is there to protects their licensees, not victimized mental health patients. The ABA is there to protect lawyers, not their victimized clients. The Vatican protects deviant pedophile priest and nuns that sexually abuse congregants, not their victims. The BBB is there to protect businesses, not the general public.
I partially disagree. The crimes, themselves are not *new* (implying a degradation of society, as a whole). There have always been dirty cops, pedophiles, incestuous monsters, etc.. Our society created an environment in which their victims were constantly silenced. So, the difference is in the reporting, arrests and prosecution of some of them; not the crimes themselves.
I'm all for the death penalty it these cases. The child will have to live with that trauma the rest of their lives, re-living that event (or events) over and over and over. 16 years is not enough. I'd say life in prison, but that is more expense for the state (tax payers) to deal with.
Agreed, grown men in dresses now openly groom toddlers as the world cheers. At this point in time we have to ask if there are ANY Drag Queen story hour readers who aren't registered pedophiles.
They are already there. They are just being protected by superiors that are cool with cops committing crimes.
