The ad that you highlighted IS for First Edition books, and they are priced at about average for First Edition Dr Seuss books. There is no "bump" in value.

I think perhaps he has been taken. He apparently bought a book by Dr. Suess.

This topic makes no sense because the premise is false. There is nothing to rebut.

You really want to act like you don't care about cancel culture? Typical liberal.

So let's talk about cancel culture. Do you agree with it?

This thread is about cancel culture. It's not that hard to figure out.

So they stopped publishing the books. Was it due to cancel culture?

I would need to know how you define cancel culture before I can speak to my approval or disapproval on it.

I am willing to talk about it. What do you mean with agree with it? I believe that government should not try to regulate the use of cancel culture so I that sense I support its continued existence. At the same time there are many cancel culture movements that I do not support of or even oppose for example the fans that advocated for the firing of Gina Carano from The Mandalorean TV series. My belief is if you oppose a certain cancel culture movement speak out about it or actively oppose it, (legally). For example if you do not like the boycott Chick Fil A, Disney, Goya beans or Goodyear tire movement go support the company.

So do you agree with it? What do you propose to do about it?

I think it's wrong. People now use it to get rid of anyone they don't agree with. It's like one side is trying to silence the other side.

I agree with everything you said. I can see cancel culture for rapists or murders but Gina Carano? Disney literally proved her point when they fired her.

I'm not honestly sure what to do about it. The left seems to controll everything so they have all of the power.

You seem to have missed his point. Only a Collectible edition is expensive. As you can see below, a regular non-collectible paperback is still very cheap.

When you say it is wrong is it only wrong when the cancel culture is directly at something you support is it universally all cases of cancel culture?

Was it wrong when Trump used cancel culture against Goodyear or tried to have specific CNN people fire? What about the conservative boycott of Disney or the evangelical boycott of Harry Potter. The concept of cancel culture has been around forever it is just now been weaponized and used as a buzz word.

You still did not address what you would like to see done about it? If it is wrong do you want to see new laws or regulations enacted to curb it? Should it be dealt with by society with anti-cancel culture campaigns?

OK. I do not believe "cancel culture" is anything new. People have been using the media to sway public opinion since the beginning of time. The only reason it's an "issue" for some people is because the things that were usually done behind closed doors is more public now. People have the right to express their opinions as part of the 1st Amendment and others have a right to respond to that anyway they choose. This is the reason that public relations people make so much money.

You seem to think that isn't a big deal "just now been weaponized"
Explain why Pedro Pascal (liberal, so liberal he has "his/him" after his name on twitter did not get fired for a holocaust reference and Gina Carano (conservative) DID get fired?

    Sounds like you're being played....again!

The real reason for the Dr. Seuss freakout

    ~snip~

Their latest focus is Dr. Seuss. The company that controls the Seuss catalog has decided to pull six of his dozens of books, the earliest of which was written in 1937, because they contain racist images of Asians and Africans. This seems sensible: Seuss' estate has an interest in protecting and promoting his legacy, and that's not going to happen by selling racist books to kids. That is not an attack on a beloved children's author. It is a recognition that a small portion of his older work is out of place today.

No one is canceling Dr. Seuss. On the contrary: he's being well-served.

Main reason is he is the lead actor of the series whereas she was a guest character on 7 episode over 2 seasons.

BTW how do you know Pedero Pascal is a liberal? (Not trying to be offensive at all). Was there an interview or does he openly support the democrats? I am sort of a fan of his work. Watch Mandalorean, GOT, Wonder Woman etc... but don't know his political views.

I only knew of this when this whole Gina Carano thing happened. I've always been a fan of Pedro and don't care about actors' political preferences, however the double standard is REAL

Here is some more cancel culture. Black conservatives trying to cancel Candace Owens just because they feel she is popular.

One lady compares her to Carlton from the fresh Prince of Bel Air. I don't agree with any of these people.

Can you help me understand why it's a "big deal" now but people have largely overlooked the disenfranchisement of women, minorities, homosexuals and other groups they "don't like" forever? It only matters when it happens to those society deems "more worthy" than others?

And why is it that only those drinking the right-wing Kool Aid are making this an issue? Could it possibly be to avoid everything else that is REAL?

Pandemic and Stimulus checks is the reality we need addressing, not this nonsense crap.
