Take that, all you people on here who think I'm an extremist! To be fair, though, none of those questions really got at the heart of conservative v. liberal values. Examples: Do you believe in a strong military? Do you think your country is the best in the world? Do you believe welfare helps people or hurts people? If someone knocked on your door and said, "I'm from the government," would you be delighted or terrified? Are people basically good or basically bad?
They are not supposed to because that's not how these tests work. Direct questions like that alter the results. If you are interested in how these tests are formulated there are many articles online about how they are constructed. If you've ever taken something like an application test for employment and seen the same question repeated 4 or 5 times, it's done for a specific purpose.
Of course they do. But vague generalities like the ones they use are automatically going to dump most people into the middle of the graph, while in reality, it's much more evenly spread out, with a considerable number of people being conservative or liberal. I'm pretty far right-wing and you see where it put me. Not really. To see how long it takes you to get pissed off answering the same stupid question over and over again? I'm not sure what it is about my personality that sets off alarm bells, but I can tell you I've never gotten hired at a job that required a personality inventory as part of the application process.

I don't usually bite on polls like this because i've never been one to confine myself in any political/ideological box. I gave it a go. Found to many of the questions were put in an all or nothing context which left me with disagreeing on points that i otherwise would favor. Still an interesting result.
that reflects not being capable of making descisions, always unsure of oneself, need for belonging while not committing to anything... that said, this 'test' belongs in the humor/satire thread...
