Pet Peeves (What Are Yours)?

This has got to be the most picayune, & inexplicably specific, one, yet.

 

When some Americans say "I tell you what"... And then don't tell me. What??

-- my citing of this certain class of buzzwords-- like "So.." and, "...,right?" which one hears overused, among the Progressive community-- is applicable, on top of the individual reasons that each of those bugs me, also more generally, to just the idea of using language for the purpose of group signalling, which practice, tends to leave a bad taste in my mouth-- in a "granular," way, as all the cool, progressive kids would say.

Tribalism.

 

Who does that?

 

As long as verbal expressions seem such a big source of pet peeves, here, I'm going to get ahead of the likely classifying this expression, by someone, as something annoying to them, by saying that I like the wisdom of the expression: it is what it is.

 

It's allegedly an idiom, and a useless annoying one at that.

Mine is having to say that the person who is wearing a dress that is actually a guy is a woman. It is so disrespectful to women. Guys, I don't care that you want to wear a dress. Just don't pretend that you're actually a woman. That tech doesn't exist yet. You can have all your bits chopped off, and you still won't be able to carry a child to term and have a baby. The pretend that infringes on what we can see with our own eyes, it's just disturbing to me.



Yeah, not a woman.

 

Stop lying.
No one can make you say that.

 

I would hope that no one can make anyone say anything.
But I agree. Men can try to come over to the light side, but women can smell them out at 50 paces.

 

I invite you to read the several pieces of legislation from democrats in congress and around the states that would make not calling ted a woman a crime.

 

I invite you to read the following decision from Canada. "An attack on the fundamental human rights of an individual".

Pet peeve?

People driving in the left lane on a road, doing ONLY the speed limit and refusing to move over.
Trucks (pick up or otherwise) with a full on light show of high intensity lights, either oncoming or behind me, day or night.
People using the motorized shopping carts in a store who have no consideration for other people, and believe they have right of way no matter what.
the phrase "I really need you to do this for me" which usually proceeds a request to cover their azz for their own stupidity.

You're the familiar one with transgender policies so post the links from the US/Congress where it would be I assume a Civil Rights crime if YOU refused to call a male who identifies as a female "a woman":.
