I can't speak for the 9yo. I can, however speak, from experience that many folks who are gay knew it long before they ever reached puberty. But that said, why folks feel that it is necessary to publicize their preferences is beyond me. To me, the way you are is simply the way you are. If your only identity is formulated by the preference you have for your bed, it's a pretty shallow experience. I think Pete is pandering here, and someone on his staff thought that by creating this "moment" that it would be "news worthy". I find that sad. I don't think children a 9 years old have any concept of sexual preference. Yea I preferred to hang with my buds and not the girls, that didn't mean I wanted to have sex with them. Teaching a young nine year old boy that because he likes to hang with and be best buds with boys means he's gay is appalling and Buttigieg using that for political posturing even more so.
