The following is a new petition at WhiteHouse.Gov to force legislation that will allow for campaigns based on platform, and not money.

"We believe that Politicians have been given too much power during the campaign process, and often present an unbalanced representation due to varied funding allowances.

We believe that the length of campaign time, from beginning to end, should last no longer than one year exact to the Presidential Election.

We believe that a maximum funding cap should be placed on all candidates, including third-party organizations campaigning on behalf of a representative. We believe this funding cap should not exceed $250 Million Dollars.

It is the belief of We The People that in order to properly conduct a fair and balanced election campaign, the following regulations must be implemented. Candidates should campaign and stand by their platform, not their wallets."

I am not sure. Without reform, it seems the candidate with the most money will tend to win, and then become obligated to the special interest donors. But on the other side, regulating political free speech could be a dangerous slippery slope. A future government might implement further campaign limitations with the intent of making it more difficult for their political opposition.

What you propose is nice. But will never happen. First off, the campain laws should have never gotten this out of control. But it did because money bribed power and those who benifit from it made the laws.

I don't foresee any jewish media mogule giving up the tax free gravy that he makes on campin adds. And I don't see them giving up their power over the politicians and corporations who pay campain money to make the politicans and corporations look good.

If you can make billionare media mogules and trillionare corporation owners give up massive amounst of tax free campain money, you will be able to change campain money laws. But untill then we just got to live with it untill the collapse of this USA. Because, then those weathy greedy devils will go capitalize off another country.

Absurd, like most of the White House petitions. What you are proposing is not allowing freedom of speech and freedom of actions.

In 2012, the Obama campaign spent slightly less money than did the Romney campaign. Personally, I think we should just mandate that every penny of campaign contributions be attributed to a person. If a group of people donate, the group needs to publish how much each person donated.
