Who was credited for putting G.W. Bush in the White House ? Jim Robinson's political forum "Free Republic." In 2001 President G.W. Bush invited Jim Rob to the White House to personally thank him.

Remember "Swift Boats Veterans for the Truth" in 2004 ? Bush was reelected and just didn't get the military vote and the Vietnam veterans vote but most of all veterans votes from WW ll to Iraq and Afghan vets votes. John Kerry got "swift boated" by the truth.

George Soros "Move On.Org" likes to claim that they were responsible for putting Obama in the White House. George Soros spent hundreds of millions of dollars using social media which he financially supported to put a community organizer into the White House.

"If it's on the internet, it must be true."

That's what many young Americans believe especially the millennial generation and Generation Y thinks.

The internet and the WWW has created a society of misinformed. It's dumbing down the world.

Just recently I watched and interview of two old geezers (Greatest Generation) who were responsible for developing the internet when they worked for DARPA.
The internet was developped for ther U.S. Air Force.

In hindsight both of these two people who were behind developing the internet said after looking at how it has dumbed down people and has been used to to spread false information, they now wish that the U.S. military would have kept the internet classified.

"progressives" have been paying people to drive the discussions in forums, letters to the editor of newspapers, twitter, facebook, etc for years. By now I'm sure Republicans are doing it too. Its cheap and easy.

Look at PF, its big but 5-10 people organized and under common direction, all supporting one another, could target a particular general topic and drive the forum.

Add in some data analytics to identify which forum, web site, blog, etc. is the most vulnerable, which is the critical link, which will pay the most benefit, characterize the members, and tailor the arguments to that specific audience, and it could be a powerful way to drive opinion.

First issue some of them had was BAD TRANSLATION SOFTWARE.

Remember whether it be Cantonese or another form of the Chinese Language they use PICTOGRAPHS.

Those were easy to stop and dispatch.

Then a new smarter group....most likely based in California.....started up here.

Why do so many people misuse or not understand this word?

A PROGRESSIVE....is a person who seeks to use advancements in science, mathematics, engineering, medicine and beneficial ideology to CREATE PROGRESS in the Natural Evolutionary Development of Humanity whether it be Physical, Mental or via Knowledge.

I am a PROGRESSIVE.

I am a stunch supporter of the NRA.

A staunch supporter of the U.S. Constitution.....and I am a MODERATE....as I vote for the BEST CANDIDATE!

You provide a definition of progressivism, but the ultra-left of the Democrat party (the socialists/communists) in their never ending search to hide behind labels that sound positive and hide their true intentions has co-opted the term.

Elizabeth Warren has even created the "11 Progressive Commandments", some even sound nice and pleasant until you learn the details and find they are the same retread communist policies.

"Progressive" is like the term "liberal", its been co-opted by the socialists/communists of the extreme left and today its taken to mean something far different than its old dictionary meaning.

 

But don't you see how every time a Conservative uses the word PROGRESSIVE in a derogatory Nature that Conservative is making themself look like a MORON!!???

No, in my case I'm calling the socialists by the name they have chosen, but if you read my posts you will see I started some time ago using "progressive" socialist to make the transition to what they really are - socialists and communists.

Definitions of words change, society adopts new definitions for words, in the interest of communication some bending has to be done.

 

Just then stop using the word PROGRESSIVES...as a bad thing.

Actually I did some reading on liberal/progressive blogs and forums to see how they define themselves. First there were "progressives", then when that term took on a bad connotation they morphed into "liberals", and over the past 10-15 years returned to "progressive". A "progressive" in the late 19th century -

"...progressive intellectuals were passionate advocates of rule by disinterested experts led by a strong unifying leader. They were in favor of using the state to mold social institutions in the interests of the collective. They thought that individualism and the Constitution were both outmoded."

That applies to todays Democrat party "progressives". They literally want to "progress" from the outmoded Constitution and democratic style of govt to a form of totalitarianism.

"progressivism" is the correct term for them, that's what they truly label themselves, and I will keep using it as I have. It makes no sense to use it as you define it, nobody thinks of it in those terms anymore.

My first encounter with shills, sock puppets and astroturfers was as a teen on USENET in the late 1990's. It now has spread exponentially to all forums on the net.

Social media has changed a lot in just the last 6 years or so, so yes, political message boards aren't the main outlet they used to be, and in fact are so heavily spammed by 'talking points' and idiotic 'Teachable Moments' that nearly anybody can merely visit a few partisan outlets like Town Hall or Daily Kos and generally predict what the next few hour and day's threads are going to be, and the mian 'counter- points' both 'sides' are going to be making, with 'I Touched You Last!!!! NYAH NYAH NYAH!!!' posts running for pages and pages, essentially making such threads not worth reading.

And, most elections are determined by the opinion making and the economy in the last three quarters, 9 months or so, before the elections, and most of the hyperbole in the years and months between are wasted nonsense for the most part.

It is not as funny as it seems. I was at a 'meeting' a week ago it was a family type affair a 'bean feed' for the disadvantaged and I mentioned to a friend that is only in high school about how capitalism, even though I love it (my country) runs on greed etc. A guy from Chile SA (!) agreed and asked me to come to a meeting to discuss related issues...I never went because I was already a couple hundred miles from home, but if he wasnt an agent Ill eat his socks...

Absolutely wonderful, a brochure on how to think everybody who does irritating/stupid things on a message board on is a master spy instead of just a gaping (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*).

Some people watch WAY too much of The Americans on TV and shouldn't be allowed to check out any more thrillers from the library

OTOH maybe it's so. I read an article once on spying which said the most precious thing to a spy organization is to have everyone think they're utter idiots, so nobody will think they could ever try anything clever. The thing is the only way to do this really convincingly was to actually BE idiots so often spies seem to compete with each other in doing really dumb things. The most realistic spy series was "Get Smart" by this theory.

 

The day's of SPY'S.....is now more of an Industrila Thing than it was in te 50's, 60', 70's, 0's and even 90's through 2010's.

Spy craft works not all that well in a CLOSED SOCIETY like the Soviet Union once was....and they were much better at the Human Asset aspect of it than we were....but we alwats were DECADES AHEAD IN TECHNOLOGY.

Tehn the Soviet Union fell apart and as Russia had no money we were like....HOLY S#!#!!! This many Nuclear, Chemical and Biological Weapons....NOT GOOD!!!

So we pid out about $300 Billion to but all those Old Soviet Nukes, Chemical and Bilogical Weapons.

At this time the United States ould have walked right into Red Square with 1 Million Troops and they would have been HAPPY TO SEE US!!!

But the Russian's being in a Communist System for so long did not understand MARKET VOLITIVITY.....and they blamed their losses on us.

Putin has manufactured this concept that there is some conflict between the U.S. and Russia...for Russian Public Comption......as it is LAUGHABLE IN THE U.S.!!!

I am in Odessa....just North of the Black Sea.....and I am asked to travel to Moscow for a Meeting.

Now my sole purpose is to provide security for U.S. Military Weapons Destructio Teams.....but Putin also knows me as one of the people wo developed the Back Channel Communication after the Yuri Adropov Debacle.

I meet him for the first time....I know what he is...he knows what I am....and we immediately dislike each other.

I leave that night after dinner wondering what the HELL that was alll about.
