I was a yuge Syracuse fan years ago starting in the mid 1960s. Also enjoyed their basketball and still love their lacrosse team. Would be great if their football program enjoys success like it did under Schwartzwalder. While he had success for many years he ran into a problem in that he did not like what used to be called "uppity Negroes". When word got out about his attitude, he failed to recruit good black players for his team. This set back the Orange's success and hurt the chances of creating a great Big East of college football in the late 60s and thru the 70s.

Just imagine what a conference we could have had with Pitt, Penn State, Boston College, Syracuse, Army, Navy, Rutgers, and a few others. The Northeastern states still produce some of the best high school talent in the USA. But we failed to produce a great major conference because of bigoted fools like Schwartzwalder.

Iowa blew out Ohio St. in a major upset.

    Penn St. lost to MSU.

The Big 10's chances for the CFP Final Four could be in major jeopardy.

Lots of home grown talent on their roster. Kudos to them.

Will GA/AL SEC championship be better than the CFP? Assuming it's those two

Remember AL/LSU situation right before the CFP existed?

Significantly, it was reported that the TV ratings took a yuge plunge compared to last year. And the kneeling controversy had nothing to do with it.

The AL/LSU championship after their regular season games was proof that we needed a playoff

    Yeah.

The big CFP playoff dilemma (as of now) surrounds the possibility that an undefeated Wisconsin team could be passed over.

Depends on if they lose to Iowa or not. If Iowa wins, they play either PS or OSU in the champ game ensuring that NONE of the big 10 teams gets into the playoffs.

Watching Kirk Herbstreit snivel about OSU is getting old though. All I can say is ND is so way over rated.... 3?? What quality win do they have? After their loss to Miami, they will get shunted down to the tier two school they've become.

Could be. And even if one of them loses, they both still make it back to the playoffs...

Miami is on a hot streak but my faith in them is dwindling.

Yup. Same thing happened 5 or 6 years ago with LSU as I mentioned earlier because of how strong the SEC schedules can be

It pains me deeply to applaud anything Donna Shelala does, but the team this year has done pretty good. A ND win puts them in the top tier.

Yes, that's true. A ND win does bump them straight into the top 3 conversation, IMO

It will be comical if Wisconsin loses to Ohio St. In the Big 10 Championship game.

Dammit, can we please have a football playoff without Alabama or Ohio State? Possibly the two most obnoxious schools in all of NCAA football. Granted, Georgia deserves to be there and Wisconsin screwed themselves by losing to the Buckeyes, and I'd rather see Ohio State in there than two teams from the SEC. But the committee should've brought USC over from the PAC-12 just to make it more interesting... and appeal to a much broader audience. This idiotic selection may us with an SEC vs SEC championship game... booooooring!

    Go Sooners!

It amazes me that Bama is in. The only team of note that they have played they lost to.

Honestly, the coaching carousel has been more fun to watch. I honestly thought that Les Miles was going to be at Tennessee.
