    Any predictions? Any favorites?

I like Chen in the Men's Figure Skating.

The USA Team Figure Skaters should be a lock for the Bronze.

USA Women Figure Skaters would be hard pressed to get an individual medal (unless Tennell stands on her head or Nagasu can hit a couple Triple Axels).

Hope the Russian Figure Skaters compete under a neutral flag..

Diva Evgenia Medvedeva (arguably the Great Female Figure Skater of All Time) deserves to compete.

Looking forward to seeing Lindsey Vonn and Shaun White.

Hockey will be interesting, with no NHL participation.

    Thoughts?

    Very true.

With no NHL participation, Canadian Sports Media is really pushing the Curling.

    Oughtta be great.

To see if anybody can take Canada out.

Well, the USA got their First Gold Medal, in Snowboarding.

Tonight is the Final of the Ice Skating Team competition.

The USA (seemingly a lock for the Bronze, going in) has run into some unexpected competition due to some sketchy judging.

Thanks for posting this thread. I didn't think anyone on this site was interested in the Olympics. Watched Red win his gold medal this morning. It was awe inspiring. Love watching these athletes do their thing.

Watching the program as I type this out.

    Nagasu hit the Triple Axel!

First American Women in history to do it at The Olympics.

    USA gets Team Bronze.

    EPICNESS!

    Nagasu Triple Axel, FTW! :salute:

Watched France's Perrine Lafont win Gold in ladies mogul in what is a very challenging course. The tv commentator got very emotional as Andi Naude (who had been leading up to the end) DNF. I thought he was actually going to cry!

Long distance speed skating was another great event as Holland's Sven Kramer won over a very game Ted-Jan Bloemen (Canada-Holland). Sadly, gone are the days when the USA dominated this sport with greats such as Eric Heiden, Bonnie Blair, Dan Jansen, Terry McDermott, Dan Immerfall, and others.

I hope you nice folks watched the mens biathlon as this to me is the most under rated sport in Winter Olympics. It has a yuge following in most of Europe with some following in the Northeast USA and Canada. Arnd Pfeiffer won in an upset as the favorite Martin Fourcade faltered (possibly due to big shifts in wind patterns). American Lowell Bailey finished 33th. I believe that if we had a major circuit for that sport here, the USA would do considerably better in this sport. Here is a good re-cap of this exciting event today:

Ladies snowboard slope was exciting as the very pretty American Jamie Anderson won Gold:

    GO USA!

Amazing story about the female Russian Curler (who won a Bronze Medal today).

    Anastasia Bryzgalova.

She looks like a young Angelina Jolie, and has taken the internet by storm.

Chloe Kim brought home Snowboard Gold to the USA.

Shaun White has the highest score of the Men's Qualifiers.

    Totally.

Coming through in the clutch (under unreal pressure).

    Gutsy performance.

I believe so. The sport started out as a recreational activity for the back yards in the late 1960s and became a competitive sport in the mid 70s. In '98 it became an Olympic sport. It sure takes a lot of guts and practice to excel in that risky sport.

I'm going for the first time in my life in a few weeks. I've never really watched the sport but after watching the Olympics I'm excited to try it. I don't think the place I'm going has any half pipes but they do have a few small jumps.

I need to learn how to snowboard first though. I heard you fall a lot starting out.

Ouch - do be careful as falling on ice can be painful!

Thanks. I'm eager to learn the basics. Watched youtube videos on it and looks difficult just to go down the hills.

Lindsay Jacobellis gets a chance at redemption tonight.

Trying to get the bad taste out of her mouth from a miscue in 2006.

I had forgotten about that bonehead move she made. One of the biggest mistakes in sports history. Ever.

    Yup.

And she goes tonight in a bid for redemption.

12 years after the Epic Bonehead move.

At the Age of 32 she is still the reigning World Champ (and the favorite).

    Gonna be interesting.

She just needs to avoid a crash.

    Jacobellis is into the Final.

Finished 2nd in her Semi Heat to the 2014 Gold Medalist.

    Jacobellis choked. 4th Place.

She will never live down trying to Holt Dog it in 2006.

More HORRIBLE News from the Olympics for the U.S.

Nathan Chen, a Medal contender in Men's Figure Skating, messes the bed and finishes 13th in the Short program.

Mikaela Shiffrin (a day after winning Skiing Gold) finishes 4th in her specialty.
