Pats resigned Thomas. Was def. a structure move to release him yesterday. WR's look good- expect JE11 to get some serious attention from safeties this year with no gronk (assuming he stays retired all season. He mentioned that returning IS a possibility- won't hold my breath though).

My prediction of the worst teams this season (in what I believe to be, in order):

    1. Giants
    2. Bills
    3. Jets
    4. Raiders
    5. Cardinals

I was all excited about the Bears, but then I am wondering how Nagy's strategy of not playing any starters hardly at all during pre season, Trubisky didn't even attempt a pass. Mack didn't play a down. Game speed is drastically different than practice speed. He did the same thing last year and in the opener they had a big lead against the Packers and then had nothing left in the tank in the 4th quarter and blew the game. The Bears looked tired and the Packers just ran by them. I guess Thursday will tell us a lot.

Well I hate being right all the time but it looks like sitting all your starters and making the first game of the season the first action paid off beautifully for the Bears. They looked like they would have had trouble scoring against a high school team. Pathetic. So much for all the hype. Maybe if they are lucky they can go 10-6 and squeak in the playoffs, but I would bet against it.

With all the rules favoring offense how is it possible to only score 3 points? News flash, only first game of the season but YES it is time to panic if you are a Bears fan.

    No kidding.

The Bears were surprisingly lethargic last night.

And you are correct, how does a team score only 3 points, at Home (in this Age of Offense) in perfect weather conditions?

How 'bout dem Patriots signing AB?

Maybe Tom Brady and AB can front a new ad campaign for Ritz?

Colts fan, Brisket is playing good so far but looks like Viniteria is finally showing his age so far at half time he's missed an extra point and field goal

Then he missed a 29-yarder in 2nd half.

Tough loss in OT, considering the great drive to tie it.

All in all it was an encouraging game I'd say other than special teams

Patriots are making it look easy tonight.

Only favored by 5 1/2 and blowing Pittsburgh out 30-3

I really think cutting down on padded practices are a big thing too maybe that's why line play has gotten so crappy recently.

Their new Offense coordinator Kellen Moore looks like an improvement over Linehan

I read that the league isn't gonna investigate the AB thing. What's your thoughts ?

Also I see alot of parallels between the cowboys and my team the Colts. Good running attack decent passing and good promising defenders Vander esch and Jaylen Smith for the cowboys and Darius Leonard and Malik Hooker for the colts

I never thought I'd go to this point this early, figured this one would come up in a few more years- but let's discuss Can Newton's future. I'm not just writing this because of his performance in the last two games (which was bad especially last night). Cam's without a TD in any fashion this season, but let's talk about his last few years.

Cam's a big-bodied QB who used to know when the appropriate time to run the ball was. They had designed run plays on 2nd and 3rd downs that most teams couldn't beat.

Cam's too beat up. Cam cannot sustain his style of football for his own health and it's CLEARLY showing.

If I'm the Carolina Panthers, I'm already thinking 3 steps ahead if I want to reach the playoffs.

Is Cam going to be their guy moving forward? Will they just cling to hope like the Giants and Eli and wait till it's too late?

I think Cam needs a new style of play or he's going to have a season (or career) ending injury on one of these bad runs.

Floor open for discussion (Note: Though I'm a Pats fan, I'm also a huge Carolina Panthers fan too for the NFC. I was stationed in NC for a while and grew attached. I'm definitely not a hater by any means).

I don't think that Cam has ever been the same since his Epic Collapse in SB 50,

Riding the wave of a 15-1 MVP Season and then utterly destroying Arizona in the NFC Champ. Game, and then going into the SB as -5 Favorite and getting beat 24-10.

Cam even forgot how to dive on a fumble (when the game was still hanging in the balance).

Wasn't even man enough to face the press afterward.

I just don't think he was ever the same after that game.

He went from Superman to a Dud.

Carolina seems to be in a No Win situation with his contract.

They have already paid him $121 Mil. and next year another $19 Mil.

He is a UFA after 2020, but he will only be 31 years old.

What does Carolina do if he has a big year next year, and then they jump to re-sign him, and then he tanks?

What do if he has a decent year this year? Draft a high QB next year and ride out Cam's contract just in case. If Cam tanks, I suspect they are looking for a trade or a high draft pick and tank this season as a team all together.

He's taken debatably more punishment than Andrew Luck (my teams former QB) so ya I'd be worried about those hits piling up if I was a panther fan. The problem is can cam change his playstyle and still be successful

I don't think a team can go wrong investing in quality line men regardless of who's at qb.

Dallas is an example how to be successful with a middling talent at QB same with when Big Ben won his first Superbowl. Don't turn the ball over and let the stud o lineman make wholes and throw a few long to take the top of the defense
