Dick Cheney was hired as CEO of Halliburton, the biggest oil services corporation in the world when all he knew about oil was how much it cost to change in his Caddy at Jiffylube. This kind of crap happens all the time in politics especially where Republicans are concerned.

The SCE website crashed because everyone wants to know if they are going to go into the dark for the next few days.

Can't figure out why the City of Orange in the OC is targeted to be one of the cities to have their power cut off. Orange isn't exactly near the foothills.

The next few days will give a few million people in California what it's like living in a third world country that has mandatory brownouts and blackouts.

Don't ever remember this happening in California before.

I guess some just forgot, don't bite the hand that feeds you.

Both PGE and SCE have had enough of being sued by its own customers every time a down wire or a transformer blows starting a wildfire.

I remember Haliburton when I was in Vietnam. They built a lot of the American military bases in South Vietnam.

In fact Haliburton did the same thing during WW ll.

Haliburton like the Bechtel Corp do more than drill and build things.

That drive "blood alley" is amazing. The twists and turns and curves are awesome. My Dad was a race car driver. He owned a small Ranch in Gilroy and a car dealership in San Jose. He would take me in a Porsche on that drive. It was incredible. I remember, before he moved to Gilroy and lived in Campbell that he came one day with a friend. They had just made that drive in crazy time. The guy had pissed himself and lost a $100 bet on the time it would take to my Dad.

You are aware there is only one Jiffy Lube in Wyoming and its somewhere near Evanston Wyoming.

I think Evanston is oil country.

Is Dick Cheney from Evanston Wyoming ?

The Democrats have run the state into the ground. It's incredible how quickly they wrecked it.

Yep, and Cheney never had a private sector job in his life before he was hired as their CEO only because he was a corrupt ass who would guarantee getting them unlimited no bid or rigged bid contracts. LBJ was the Senator from Brown and Root who escalated the Vietnam War then granted B&R huge contracts.

I destroyed a Honda 90 driving that climb two three time a week on summer vacation, but it was well worth it LOL

LOL I make the same mistake when billing them, I never remember to use two LL in Halliburton :) And I have billed them over 50 times at least, it's a mental block for some reason..

Wow...this is what I'd expect to see in a 3rd World Country.....it's amazing what has happened to Cali......

My guess is the Hollywood Libs and the rich folks out in San Fran wine country will be doing just fine....it's the little people, and working class that will suffer

True, Cheney like way to may politicians never had a real job in the private sector until the 1990's.

Dick Cheney is your classic neocon.

But as Vice President during the Bush (43) administration he was probably the best and most competent Vice President in America's history. Definitely the most powerful VP in America's history.

If you remember the first VP debate in 2000 between Dick Cheney and Joe Lieberman all of the liberals with in the MSM were saying after the debate that Dick Cheney should be running for President not George W. Bush or Al Gore.

As one who drives all around Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino, Riverside, San Diego, Ventura and Kern Counties all the time, my eyes tell me that you are full of it. California is still great and getting better all the time. If you concentrate on reading news stories and watching “if it bleeds it leads” crap on tv or the Internet, you will no doubt have a dim view of California, the US and the world in general.

However, I choose to live my own life and draw my own conclusions from personal experience. I went down to Cerritos last Thursday night, had a great dinner and some drinks at Wood Ranch BBQ and saw the great Emmylou Harris sing her heart out for a couple hours from 2 rows back. Sunday some family, friends and I went to the Hollywood Bowl at 3:00 pm, partied, drank, smoked and ate until Van Morrison came out and entertained us for two hours. Friday, I’m driving over the Tehachipi pass to go see Dwight Yoakam play some rockabilly music Bakersfield style. I love California. Today, 72 degrees, with a breeze...

Was there any other reason to go to college back then before colleges started indoctrinating young adults to be young Marxist and snowflakes ?

Dick Cheney was part of the "Silent Generation" but accurately part of the luckiest generation.

To young to have fought during WW ll and the Korean War but too old to have been sent to Vietnam.

And Cheney found himself with those who were to young to have been drafted and when they changed the law and started drafting 20 yearolds and tennagers, Cheney found himself to old to be drafted. That's being really lucky.

This is like saying Disney land is what California is like.

Forgetting the piss poor traffic, high taxes on everything, entire strip malls empty, illegals selling bootleg porno in fast food parking lots, gang violence, feces and needles on the streets, etc.

    But hey there's Disneyland!
