Yes, animals are amazing and extremely intelligent. I have heard about dogs that would alert the person b/f the seizure hit. I saw one case on tv where the woman and aid dog were walking down the sidewalk, the dog suddenly started pulling her towards the shelter of a bldg & when she was in a safer area, she had the seizure......

Also saw a documentary about dogs that could detect cancer. The team of people that were used, only some had patches on them that had cancerous cells. The dog sniffed each person and if he poked his nose into the area of the person, that person had that patch on them.

Yrs ago there was a tv series I watched all the time b/c it was fascinating. It was about animals and can't remember the name of it. Anyway, there was a young woman who had a dog, the dog started poking his nose into her breast area and quite hard. He wouldn't stop doing it. She went to the dr and she had breast cancer........

I really dislike these people who call animals 'dumb animals'... they're to stupid to realize what these animals have given us - cadaver, search & rescue, detecting cancer, aid/medical for the disabled and the list goes on and on......I was friends w/a cop here who was the handler of their GS police dog and he told me some amazing stories about how Keno helped him thru incidents w/the criminals.......

Pity the people who don't like animals, they are missing out on one of life's best treasures.

Yes, they are. Just a cat curled up on your lap is comforting.

I had a black Manx named Moxy that gave me 14 yrs of laughter and annoyance. He had a crazy personality. The one story about him that I've told everyone is one night around 10pm he wanted outside and I said 'NO'.... wouldn't let him out at night b/c I don't trust everyone around a cat. Moxy tho't he could run like a gazelle, but he couldn't b/c he was fat...20#.

He got mad at me when I said "NO" and stamped off to the kitchen. I heard stuff lightly falling and went to see what was going on. He had swiped at all my magnets on frig door and sent them flying. I looked down at him sitting there glaring up at me w/a defiant look on his face and couldn't get mad. All I could think of was his intellect. "What kind of a brain do you have that you'd think of my MAGNETS?" No answer, just a defiant look.

About a week later he heard "NO" again and again he marched out to the kitchen and sent the magnets flying. He heard me coming, knew I was pist and took off. Of course he knew he just had to give me a 1/2 hr and my lap would be ready for him...why would a cat think of magnets?

Many times when he was pist at me, he'd wait until I was asleep and in the middle of the night, he climb on my bed and lay on my face, trying to smother me... cats are very sneaky, cunning and diabolical critters......but I love them anyway.
