NYC is not just defunding the police, but also hospitals and schools.

At the same time, many of the wealthy have left New York because of its punishingly high taxes.

Americans in the past were OK with the rich back when the income disparity wasn't so out of line and we had a prosperous middle class. We even admired the rich. When things looked fair and the rich were not running DC and the non rich was represented in DC.

Nothing will change until average workers hit the streets and threaten this form of capitalism that no longer works for them. As we saw in the 30s.

The economic suffering will finally prompt this to happen again and another FDR type is elected who has the moral fortitude to take on the billionaires all 400 of them telling them...you can't have it all . And getting rid of the GOP legislation that corporations are not bound to max out profits by disemboweling america.

Oh and lets not forget that the elite ruling class will still be there, still living luxuriously, well fed and well guarded, because at no point in the history of mankind has there ever been a marxist driven revolution powered by the plebeians that didn't ultimately end up creating and serving an elite ruling class of 1%ers.
