Where in Europe is there to go?

    What beaches does Europe have?
What snow capped mountain winter romance is there?
What cities are there to go, in Europe?

    Where to see in Europe?

Been to Europe, know of an excellent holiday/vacation?
    Please speak up.

I suggest visiting the myriad of homeless migrant camps. Enjoy your culture shock....

I love Europe. We first visited about 20 years ago and we have been returning almost on a yearly basis since.

Where to go totally depends on your travel preferences. What is your primary reason to travel? The majority of people answer rest and relaxation with occasional activities. Other like myself are on fairly aggressive schedules where I like to cover a fair bit of ground and visit historical sites and places. I also love to experience local foods and plan extensively on where to eat. Eco-tourist is the new thing where people want to get in touch with nature. Hiking, camping and visit out of the way places where most tourist do not normally visit. Your age and fitness level also is a major determinate of where to visit and stay and how to travel.

... I must admit, they do look lively, compared to Belgium that is.

This was shot by yours truly a week or two before the Brexit vote in 2016.

    What do I want?

A different climate, one that I've not experienced before; or, a good time.

I've only seen Northern Europe and North Eastern United States and the climates are pretty much the same; 4 seasons etc...
I wouldn't mind seeing Gibraltar because it's in the Med' and is like England in the sun; and you can probably walk to the hotel from the airport as it's not really that big.
Or some snow capped mountain/skiing Holiday in Switzerland.
Or... Ireland for St. Patrick's Day 2022 or, Oktoberfest 2022; same climate; but way fun.

I'm from London, I've only ever been to Amsterdam in the EU (so far).

I also want to see Italy; starting with Venice because of floods and rising sea levels and I want to see Venice but feel it's a sooner rather than later deal; I also want to see Rome, but, I fear Venice might not be so habitable like it was so; it's more or less at the top of my list and only Covid in Italy stopped me in 2020 from making this trip I was planning there.

So I have a British Airways voucher (that can also be exchanged with a OneWorld partner airline) that expires in April 2022 I want to use and cash in to part pay for a trip and, Europe's more affordable for me being where I am, but, Covid and having to book before a certain date lest I lose my voucher.
So it's basically a use it or lose it thing with my British Airways voucher I don't want to waste.

You could consider basing yourself out of the Costa Del Sol area of southern Spain. It is a bit touristy in the beach areas and there are a lot of affordable and decent hotels near the beach. The climate is beautiful and they has fantastic cliff side villages along the coast. You can drink sangria and eat papaya at one of the many water front restaurants. It is also just a short excursion to the Gibraltar where you could spend a few nights or just make a day trip. You can also take a ferry over to Morocco and experience a major culture difference and more amazing foods and flavors.

Italy is fantastic. It was our first trip to Europe and we were planning on returning for a long term trip last fall before covid broke out. Once this is all over it will be near the top of our list for places to visit.
