    They have guitar shops!!!! :D

I just found out Cambridge has a bunch of guitar shops and even one cool looking one right off the bat - Those are always fun to check out and are an activity for me and a place to maybe pick up a souvenir/memento I'm liable to use at home.

It's a shared bathroom deal in a college in Cambridge and the room looks like it's straight up out of A Beautiful Mind (2001); so I'd happily survive on Pot Noodle and student food at this place just for my own amusement.
I see a Sainsbury's, and a bunch of guitar shops though, wow, who knew?

One YouTube video/the first and only one I've seen is showing me a cute little McDonald's, in Cambridge, England :).

So I know I won't starve faced with £3.00 Smooties at the market with a supermarket, it being domestic and my local high street being an option on the catering for snacks from Thornton Heath High Street & Tesco/and Fast Food options like McDonald's out there if somehow that local Sainsbury's is a bust.

SPEAKING OF WHICH, will it pass the Just Eat / Deliveroo test?

    Who knows?

I think it will, but, to be sure, let me see how I might not starve to death out there better than a student delusion on a pot noodle in some pristine dorm room with a Garden View / Court Yard view in Cambridge, England this summer.

    They have Just Eat!
and a bunch of places/a lot of options that deliver to the hotel, so, I'm going to work out what's good to eat at some point I guess out of all of that.
I'm also seeing a bunch of colleges that look cooler than that punting idea.

Here's that video (that one video) (maybe two videos LOL since YouTube History never lies, but it felt like one video) I saw that shown me that McDonald's, shown me the punting situation in Cambridge, and compared to my experience of Oxford, different ball game all together; can't even punt it yourself/rent your own and steer it around etc, but no wonder since it's like half the price, and on the video, doesn't appeal, so I'd give punting in Cambridge a miss over those colleges any day, and yes, one of which seems to be an iconic building I wish to see/visit anyway, so, yay, I hope it's open 'cause Covid, but otherwise - yaya!

You're going to Cambridge with all its magnificent medieval buildings and you're getting excited about a McDonald's.
    You're weird. ;)

    No, I'm getting excited about Queen's University being open to the public and being able to walk in one of the country's most beautiful points in space;

and a huge reason why I just like the place anyway.
I was bummed out/impressed to learn Stephen Hawking's resting place is Westminster Abbey as I'd probably be passing it that day on my way out of London if the coach goes down Victoria Street in like 5 minutes.

The food thing is really a relief learning that I have options to do this on a budget, and I do want to do this on a budget since this was a whim and a deal I found, so, knowing I can do everything I want to do and more, and just focus on that and not worrying about fancy food, is a huge bonus/deal maker for me, and since the room gorgeous as it looks is a dorm in a Cambridge University, may as well rough it and eat like a student,
The only thing stopping me from bringing the bong is that it says no smoking, is a hotel and I'm afraid I'd set off a smoke alarm and or leave a smell strong enough to incur a deep cleaning charge - so it won't be like the full student experience for lodgings, but for someone from South London who's looking to find an apple tree that inspired gravity and get stoned under it, it's probably the closest I'm ever going to get, so jump on the opportunity.
    ..
I'm also excited about the guitar shops and ...

Being back in London to take my cat to the vet to get her annual booster done so, I like / love the idea of coming home and being reunited with my cat and then taking her out to the vet and then coming home with her... So, I'm getting pretty excited about it and my brain needs a break from Whitby until I go there later this year.

You gotta admit though, that's one adorable looking McDonald's.

Turns out this apple tree isn't even Cambridge.

    I'm only pulling your leg.
    I quite jealous really.
I've only seen Cambridge University from the outside. Some fantastic panelled halls. Very Harry Potter. The second pic is Queens college's Old Hall.

I just found out taking a steam train was actually an option for me when going to Whitby if I'm in Pickering for 12 noon.

I doubt I will be, but, that could be a first and since Whitby's a bucket list thing, why not include a first too, like 'first time ever riding a steam train'.
I fear however it might hike up the price in travel making it to Pickering from London before noon as it's on a Sunday I'd be travelling there but I'd have a look.

I also canceled the hotel in Cambridge when saw how close it was to London and figure I could always day trip it.
I kinda regret that choice since I lost the room that would have been a novelty for me, but, is what it is, least I have more time and money to focus on North Yorkshire.

You can buy a nice piece of Whitby jet instead.
