I think the problem for Americans with cancer are accessing treatments more likely to extend their lives and perhaps cure their cancer.

Accessing treatments, or accessing QUALITY treatments?

Unborn life is no different to born life. Tell me why I'm wrong.

You just find it inconvenient that I'm talking about murder, because you know that I'm right! The law against murder doesn't stop people from murdering. The law against murder only benefits society in one way: anyone who murders who gets caught and sent to prison, is prevented -- at least for some time -- from murdering again, or at least murdering outside of prison.

In the same way, a law against performing elective abortion wouldn't stop people from performing elective abortion. A law against performing elective abortion would only benefit society in at least one way: anyone who performs elective abortion who gets caught and sent to prison, is prevented -- at least for some time -- from performing elective abortion again. And I think that a second VERY likely benefit, is that it will reduce the number of abortions performed, given that performing one would risk prison. Who is going to take that risk? That sounds like the sort of risk that only someone capable of murder would take.

Yes and fitting women with a house arrest bracelet and confining them to their home until they give birth, would be an example of government control. I'm saying that because of FREEDOM this should not happen. So what the hell are you talking about? How does your above response apply to what I said?

It benefits the child who isn't killed.

Oh, lord, let's not go into this again...there is NO "child" killed in abortion.

However, if a fetus is killed it benefits from not being born into a world where it isn't wanted.

Unborn life requires zero effort on your part and is therefore a position of convenience. It would be like me claiming to care about the homeless by insisting they move in with you. Once the baby takes a breath and requires 25+ years of effort, the concern disappears. (Not for all; some do adopt)

Moving the goalpost to murder supports my argument as it demonstrates inability to address the actual issue. Abortion laws simply cannot be enforced and have no benefit to society. Deflecting to other issues like murder and government healthcare does not refute this simple fact.

Yes, you would shut down legitimate clinics and the true number of abortions would be hidden from your view. How is that different than just closing your eyes and ignoring the issue altogether?

You seem to have missed this: "A law against performing elective abortion would only benefit society in at least one way: anyone who performs elective abortion who gets caught and sent to prison, is prevented -- at least for some time -- from performing elective abortion again. And I think that a second VERY likely benefit, is that it will reduce the number of abortions performed, given that performing one would risk prison."

Yeah, you'd like that wouldn't you!

    In your opinion.

There are born children who are also not wanted. But I somehow doubt that you would say: if a child is killed it benefits from not being born into a world where it isn't wanted! :roflol:

Just like BORN life unrelated to you requires zero effort on your part.

Nice dodge by the way. Again, unborn life is no different to born life. Tell me why I'm wrong.

You still haven't said what you mean by 'enforced.'

I mention the government controlled health system because you seem to think think if abortion wasn't included in it, this would be "government interference" in our lives. Which is simply ridiculous.

So the EXACT number of abortions would need to be known in order to justify a ban on abortion? You seriously cannot see how insanely ridiculous that is?

I didn't miss anything....I asked And who or what does that benefit?

You: "who gets caught and sent to prison, is prevented -- at least for some time -- from performing elective abortion again"""

WHO or what does that benefit?

You: ""is that it will reduce the number of abortions performed, given that performing one would risk prison."""

    WHO does it benefit....???

No, in the world of science and facts....where people don't have to use emotional appeal to have a point...

A ZEF is not a child.

YES, and isn't that sad and tragic and where are all you Anti-Choicers to adopt these unwanted kids who are suffering NOW.. !!! :) :)

I would say and have said the unwanted are better off aborted then brought into the world to suffer their entire lives....you seem to think their suffering is just fine and dandy as long as they weren't aborted.

I find it truly sad you think human beings are so helpless they can’t rise above a difficult beginning to lead happy, productive lives. If you think they wouldn’t find life easy then better to just kill them off.

It isn't the first time the world has seen the attitude of "Let's kill them off. It's for their own good, they have a life that not worth living."
