Redlining no longer exists. The major reason why it does not exist is due to the severe legal sanctions.

In the United States, the Fair Housing Act of 1968 was passed to fight the practice. According to the Department of Housing and Urban Development, "The Fair Housing Act makes it unlawful to discriminate in the terms, conditions, or privileges of sale of a dwelling because of race or national origin.

Meh... I read every word of the article and I'm pretty sure I understood what was written correctly. The best advice in letters-of-introduction and resumès is don't inject ANYTHING "ethnic" into them -- no matter what color you are....

The woman he killed using his car was a white woman.

There are severe sanctions for capital murder but it still happens. Lenders may not have a map hanging on the wall and a written policy, but redlining still exists. There are plenty of articles about it you can google if you so desire.

George Floyd was not racist at all. George you see had committed a federal crime. George Floyd was walked to the police car and put inside the car. Still alive.

Floyd managed to get out of the police car and was on the street in front of the police car when caught again. He was a criminal. As Policy says the cop that held him down has been charged. Systematic racism would have let the police officer escape being charged.

Brionna Taylor picked bad boyfriends. He was the target of the cops and not her.

I was for years a mortgage broker. We did not deliberately violate federal laws. Not to the point it was common to do that.

Blacks account for much murders. Is this systematic to being a black man?

Systemic racism is a lie concocted by the far left to cover up the fact that the grand experiment by leftist following LBJ's Great Society programs, in which dads were yanked out of black families thus destroying the nuclear family that the left has always despised, has been an unmitigated disaster.

It represents the actual case where a man killed a white woman in Charlottesville using his car.

One more issue is Statues. There is a gigantic statue of Arthur Ashe on Monument Ave in Richmond VA.

I suppose using the definitions of Democrats, that statue is racist.

The racist left told us they quit being racists. But they harbor racism all day long.

The National Consumer Law Center in 2018 joined the Connecticut Fair Housing Center in a lawsuit against Liberty Bank, alleging the company was redlining black and Latino neighborhoods in Hartford and New Haven.

There are many other cases of applicants being denied a home loan because of their race, said Nikitra Bailey, executive vice president at the Center for Responsible Lending. Bailey pointed to a 2018 investigation by the advocacy group finding that black, Latino and Asian applicants were turned away for loans at a higher rate than whites in many U.S. cities.

Whites don't live near dumps or have to bear the decisions of the city Fathers and commissions on this or that measure taken? Give me a break.

Not necessarily, no. It isn't that simple. It should be but it isn't. Laws written by lawyers for lawyers to make a buck seldom are. How is redlining defined in the bill? How has it been interpreted historically by the courts and involved federal agencies all of this is relevant. Oh and of course what was the impact of Dodd-Frank. What looks like redlining may, in fact, simply be the result of changes in the qualification metrics for a home purchase under Dodd-Frank.

You're smuggling individual racism into a discussion about systemic racism. No system can eliminate racism. Racism is a function of a flaw in human pattern based cognition. I don't have to prove that murder doesn't exist in order to prove that our system isn't murderous. I don't have to prove that racism has been eradicated in order to show that the system isn't racist.

As already pointed out in this thread, the actual process of "redlining" has been illegal for a LONG time. What I pointed out was the unfortunate processes by which neighborhoods themselves draw the kind of attention that they are bad risks because they are points of focused gang activity, violent crime, drug use, public drunkenness, piled up trash, and run-down properties.

In any event, when "redlining" WAS legal long ago, it was not anything that was conducted by the government of the United States. So, how is/was "redlining" a projection of "Systemic Racism".

Is there any information out there of a FACTUAL nature that points out exactly what this is...? Liberal Democrats seem to believe wholeheartedly in it, but I haven't seen even one of them who can 'rise to the challenge' of factually explaining exactly what it IS.

"No"? Is that it? Is that all you've got?

Surely the event you were trying to remember can be shared with us all, can't it?

If you weren't talking about "The Charlottesville car terror attack" committed by James Alex Fields, then what WERE you talking about? Something? Nothing? It's hard to carry on a coherent conversation with an antagonist when they make a comment, and then can't back it up with anything other that a single, two-letter word....

I guess it takes time, why, not sure.
100 yrs after the slaves were freed, the blacks were still 2nd or lower class citizens, that we needed to add further laws to stop discrimination.
But laws only serve to punish those caught should the local society do so, it doesn't change anyone's mindset.

If people aren't willing to change racial views, it gets passed on to their kids.
So, it seems that it is taking generations, likely 3 or more, to get mindsets that skin color isn't a reason for how people act, but likely how people act is more a product of the environment one is living in.

I have asked many times on these type threads, how the amount and type of melanin plays a role in how a person's character is defined.
If more melanin makes on more violent or any other characteristic, then those who get tanned should get more violent?
