Police: White sword killer went to NY to attack black people

Not sure why anyone would do this. What kind of statement was he trying to make? We need more information here:

A white Army veteran traveled from Maryland to New York City to kill a black man to "make a statement" in the media capital of the world, New York Police Department officials said Wednesday. James Harris Jackson, 28, turned himself in at a Manhattan police station after he stabbed his victim on a sidewalk.

Jackson was carrying a handful of knives in his pocket when he arrived at the police station, Reuters reported. Shortly after coming across Timothy Caughman, who was searching through garbage on the street, he stabbed him in the chest and back, police said.

Jackson told police he left Baltimore Friday and traveled to New York City by bus "because it is the media capital of the world and he wanted to make a statement," Bill Aubrey, a deputy chief at the New York Police Department, told reporters. "It was revealed that the attack on Timothy Caughman was clearly racially motivated. It is believed that he was specifically intending to target male blacks."

Jackson, who was deployed by the U.S. military to Afghanistan, faces murder charges. Video footage showed him fleeing after the stabbing while dressed in a black coat.

Caughman, 66, died at a local hospital where he was being treated for his injuries. On his Twitter page, he called himself a “can and bottle recycler” and “autograph collector.” He lived in transitional housing for people with HIV/AIDS, the New York Daily News reported. He went by the nickname "Hard Rock,"

The Southern Poverty Law Center has warned non-whites living in the U.S. about potential hate crimes. “The country saw a resurgence of white nationalism that imperils the racial progress we’ve made," said Mark Potok, senior fellow and editor of the report, in a recent statement about racial attacks in 2016.

New York police have not linked Jackson to any group.

Its unfortunate that a veteran who put his life on the line came back and felt this was necessary. It really speaks volumes to the lack of care for veterans we have in this country. Unfortunately, he has made himself a terrorist and should be treated as such. Lock him up and throw away the key. Their is no justification for that. We don't have to act like black lives matter to beat them.

I read a different article on this earlier that indicated there had been some kind of argument between the two just before the stabbing. The article I read also indicated the victim was homeless but then gave his twitter link so I couldn't resist seeing what a homeless person tweets about. Most of his tweets seem to be directed toward or include references to one black actress but didn't see anything on his or hers indicating they actually knew each other or that she had responded. Had some selfies with some celebrities taken about NYC though.

PTSD maybe. He clearly is honest when he said he went there because it was the media capital as there is no shortage of blacks in Baltimore if it were strictly a racist thing. That he so openly proclaims it makes me think that was his angle to get even more attention than just swording a guy to death

 

Jihad means "to struggle" and is typically used in context of Islam. If you would like to say the man is a terrorist that would be an apt description.

Wow. This particular individual had ZERO concern over being apprehended. He turned himself in, and confessed. What supports your wild accusation? Do you expect anyone to think he wouldn't have done this if Hillary were POTUS? I would expect violent reactions from extremists would increase if Trump lost, not vice versa.
