If you long to return to a past that only exists in your mind you are a conservative and are angry. If you long for a future that can only exist in your mind you are a liberal and are angry. If you long for a present where government attempts to face the issues of today you are a moderate and are depressed.
More accurately, it's reactionaries who wish to return to those Leave it to Beaver days when even a burger flipper could buy a home. Conservatives like to move forward but are cautious so that they don't make mistakes like liberals always make by always wanting change. Liberals will never be happy, they always want changes, they are never satisfied with their own changes.
Or, you're a romantic with fond memories of your younger years. Or, you remember a time when men were judged by their actions and not their thoughts. Or, you see the value in studying and learning the lessons of your predecessors. In any case - there is no reason for anger. Or, you're a visionary who seeks to invent solutions to everyday problems. Or, you're a creative individual who dreams of what is (as yet) unseen. Or, you think man is an amazing creature with lots of potential. In any case - there is no reason for anger. This is an interesting one, because when you long for something in the present, you're generally focused on the lack of it. But, one who longs for government to solve today's problems is no moderate. Government never solves problems, only people solve problems. Government, the larger it becomes, is nothing more than a troublemaker. The individual who does this may well be depressed because he or she is depending on something he or she cannot control to solve his or her problems. This is a liberal with a strong progressive inclination. This is a person to be feared.
