Pope Francis: "Getting an abortion is like resolving a problem by hiring a hitman"

"I ask you: Is it right to 'take out' a human life to solve a problem? What do you think? Is it right? Is it right or not?" Francis asked the thousands of people in attendance.
"Is it right to hire a hitman to resolve a problem?"

So where are all those progressives who said that Pope Francis was softening on abortion?

I don't know and don't care what the Pope thinks.

However, he does make a point for me.

Some misguided people think a woman who gets an illegal abortion shouldn't be charged, they think the person who does the abortion should be charged.

It's their pathetic attempt to look "compassionate" regarding woman.

BUT , as the Pope says, it is hiring a hitman, and that is just as wrong as doing it yourself......and both should be charged the same..

Might makes right. Money makes right. Body parts and money makes right.

Someone who is a professional hitman has killed more than one, so no...

Same reason that drug dealers are charged more than the user buying the drugs.
If they catch a drug dealer selling drugs to 1 person, it's a fair bet he's sold a lot more drugs to a lot more people. So they typically punish them accordingly.
The drug user as seen as more of a victim in the situation, but they still get punished.

Accept it's more like arresting a waitress for selling you coffee - abortion is legal, so NO crime was committed.

An obvious non-sequitur, because we were talking about if it was not legal.

Unless you're trying to compare abortion in general to drinking coffee, which in that case sounds kind of nonsensical, status of legality having nothing to do with the comparison. Maybe you think she should get an abortion every morning to energize and get her day started.

NO, IF abortion is illegal because it is deemed murder:

Then hiring someone to kill for you lands you in jail for murder.

They will try the hitman separately for OTHER murders but THE person who hired him for their murder will be charged and tried the same.

THAT is as it should be or people could get away with murder because "the gun did it, not me"

DUH, murder is not a drug deal.

There are strong rules on body parts. Abortion is NOT a for-profit game of body part sales.

There have been several blatant lies on this subject - totally debunked.

You're making gross assumptions again. And as one would expect, you aren't even close.

    It's called clouding the issue.

If you don't have a good argument, just bring up something else and deflect.

    He is certainly correct!

    His analogy is valid!
