Seems unfair to the retirees. They serve 20+ years for a pension and the VA gives a pension to some who only served 90 days.
Meh, I served for 28 years. It doesn't bother me. I have lost a lot of friends to Agent Orange, Gulf War Syndrome, ailments caused by the burn pits and not one of them got anything from the govt because they died while fighting the govt to admit their illness was caused by the govt. I don't begrudge these guys a thing.
If they had a health condition caused from their duties in the military then I'm all for compensation. This however is basically welfare for veterans, which I don't think the VA should be responsible for.
