…The Subtack newsletter Public Information reported this week that Zeno’s Executive Vice President for Media Strategy Katie Cwayna ordered the company’s brands to avoid any commentary on the issue, particularly to media outlets.

“Do not engage with direct questions about your company’s position,” Cwayna wrote in the letter obtained by PI. “Whether in direct messages or public-facing posts, do not respond to questions about where your company stands on this issue.”

Taking a stand on the abortion issue, Cwayna noted, “is a textbook ‘50/50’ issue.”

“Subjects that divide the country can sometimes be no-win situations for companies because regardless of what they do they will alienate at least 15 to 30 percent of their stakeholders,”…

This is great news! Major companies now know that they can no longer simply go woke and cater to the political left. What conservatives have done to protest after Georgia and especially Florida with Disney has shown them that conservatives will not just sit and take it. We will hit them hard in their pocketbook if they take sides on political matters.

We conservatives can be friends with business and limit regulations and cut taxes or we can be their worst enemy if they turn on us like Disney did

Obviously, you MISSED the entire point...:bored:
It is the LEFT Wing (Pro-Choice People) who they don't want to alienate.
Since about 3/5ths of Americans favor legal abortion.

But the court case doesn’t make abortion illegal or ban it and more than 2/3 want some limitations on abortion. Leaving with the states satisfies that. Places that want unlimited abortions can and places that want limits much more than roe allows can do that too.

Just stop. It's not "pro-abortion". It's pro-choice. I personally do not like abortion, but I don't feel that I or anyone else has a Right to tell a woman that she can/can't have an abortion. Hence the reason it's "pro-choice". Its up to the woman to decide if she wants one or not. Not me. Not you. The woman.

Abortion predates wokeness. It's been a controversial issue since Roe was decided. Wokeness can indeed be problematic but abortion has nothing to do with it.

you conservatives are friends as long as they agree with you or you force them to remain silent. The momen a business or industry disagrees with you, whether its abortion, immigration, etc, you guys will be the first to punish them politically.

Organizations will do what they want, as will states. Most people support limits on abortions, so these companies will not want to alienate them. No doubt. That’s a good choice. The radical Feminist left is losing support.

We have never been closer to actual fascism than under Dems, to many Dems have no friends that disagree with them…they eat those who do.

It is sad how many progressives defend the practice…The innocence of childhood is not to be allowed in their world view

Exactly. Both sides express free speech and we shall see which side prevails. Money is an expression of free speech. Sometimes both sides engage in free speech and their are various consequences as a result.? The speech is free. The reactions to it can vary.

Yes they do, and what the limits are is the question. Right now, most of the most restrictive anti-abortion laws that have been passed in the last decade or so provided little to absolutely no exceptions. The 2007 Mississippi bill and the 2020 Alabam Anti Abortion law, the Texas "Heartbeat Law" and others basically provide no exceptions. I think the Mississippi bill even wanted to prosecute women who had miscarriages if they cannot prove the miscarriage was "natural" without any complications from the pregnancy.

What pisses me off is why do companies have to have a “position” on any of this stuff?

Yeap I think it's a product of Woke post education, one thing for certain the pendulum will swing because they always get over their skiis and too many woke practices ends up stepping on each others toes, hence trans men winning NCAA women's championships. Levi Strauss I heard put a new $4,000 bonus to help it's employees having an abortion. I sure would like to be the lawyer that takes the case of all the employees that have babies wanting their $4k bonus. I mean how stupid can a CEO be? Did anyone in upper management ask the question why are we going to pay a 4k bonus for abortions but not pay a bonus for those women who choose to have their baby? It's beyond idiotic that will cost the company millions in perception and employee lawsuits. If I were on that board I would fire the CEO immediately.

Businesses not taking a political position that might alienate their customer base is a wise and safe position. It's companies that go woke that go broke. Or even the reverse taking a nap (?) like the rabbit did to lose when it was racing the turtle. It's bad business.

You've got it all backwards. Employees having an abortion means a continuing worker for the company. A pregnant worker bringing a baby to term means maternity leave and all sorts of other expensive benefits for the parents. Most of which the business has to pay for, and it's mandatory under law.
