In the matter of trying to determine precisely how much ammunition one may need in a single magazine, regardless of whatever circumstances they might find themselves in.

Do you carry 50 rounds of ammo on your being when you go out in public? How about 60, 70, 80 rounds?

Indeed, armed citizens come up against the same criminals as to the police as such we should be afforded the same capacity for lawful self defense.

I have seen this argument a lot over the years, and with all due respect... it's a flawed argument to its core.

Criminals don't - for the most part anyway - actively target police; but instead innocent citizens. They cut phone lines, and do everything they can to minimize the likelihood they will encounter a police officer in the course of their criminal activities. Multiple assailant - re: gang - attacks are on the rise in some areas.

The private citizen may find themselves with their hands full simply trying to survive. Provided they even can get to the phone to place a call for help, they now have to hold off the attack long enough for help to arrive. This can take a pretty long while, even assuming they can get a call out. Sometimes the call comes in because a neighbor calls the police to report gunfire, which delays response further.

In the end, the private citizen has to be able to stand his ground with what's in his firearm; fumbling with reloading while under fire can be problematic for some. If anything the private citizen needs access to weapons at least as effective - if not more - as what the police have access to; with the highest capacity a conventional weapon could possibly hold and continue to be reliable of function.

makes one wonder whether or not you have any insurance policies, ie: why the heck have homeowners, auto, health...

anywho, there are plenty of other threads available for spreading anti-gun fear monger bs, please go find one, thanks...

My personal EDC equipment includes 58 rounds carried on my person (17+1 rounds in the pistol and two 20 round magazines carried in reserve). There was a time - admittedly just for affect when I was instructing a series of specific classes - that involved the addition of a 30-rd. AR mag with 28 rounds loaded in it to supplement that.

The only one spreading fear are those pretending you can't leave your house without being armed up the a$$.

If I should have to face a criminal I won't have backup or a bulletproof vest. If anything, they don't need a 15 round magazine, but I do. That said, I'm satisfied with having the same size magazine that they do.

Nothing worse needing 12 and only having 10.

The truth be told though the only reason for magazine limitations is to ban a broad range of firearms.

So then people in states that have 10 round mag capacities could effectively carry 30 rounds which means they wouldn't be limited in anyway. I mean....if people can't make it through the day with 30 rounds of ammo then I don't know what to tell them.

Why don't you have a bullet proof vest? Seem you should given that you think you'll need 15 rounds. Why not carry extra mags like many others do for those gun fights you might find yourself in?

There are way too many variables to set a number on the rounds one might go through in a gunfight.

And magazine changes can be very dangerous in an active shooter situation.

Look, most people don't carry 4 spare tires because they might run into a spike strip.

Totally irrelevant, a flat tire in not life threatening.

Oh I get it, however my answer doesn't match the narrative you are pushing.
