Some things and people really, really
annoy me, and I enjoy being creative
about letting people know it,
which can really annoy others.

I'm fairly decent at being a bad guy
to bad guys, but I've learned enough
through experience to know
that doesn't make me a good guy.

Absurdity annoys me to laughter.

@VN Oh, I'm still there and busier than ever, it's just that I'm in such a secret sublevel, I can't even read my own posts. Seriously though, that place was fun.

It's always been entertaining to me to locate a bunch of killers, watch and help them kill, and then murder them right before I kill myself.

Not really, but it was fun that time.

Of course, you can only roll that program out like three times before even the slowest people perk up and go "whahhhhhh!"

These days, my cocky know-it-all, slap-the-shizzle-out-of-you repeatedly in the same sentence without you knowing it personality has been pretty much brained by the hardcore knocks of the real world's effects on me living out my dreams. It takes about everything I've got to get a C- from 9-5, so I don't have alot of extra energy to crank out some jacked up fantasy roleplaying routine.

I'm just another luxury item salesman in the worst economy of any of our lifetimes with a Kenyan Commie Muslim President leading a nation of people who think the government owes everyone unthrottled 4g wireless.

Good news: I'm accomplishing more than I ever really thought I could.
Bad news: I pay what it costs to do that in time, energy and focus, and it can be a rough tow winding up in situations all the time where I'm over my head, outmatched and outplayed instead of the cushy little autopilot existence I once had where the benefit of every day being erxactly like every other was that I was better at it than my contemporaries simply because I had done it longer.

If that verbose confessional makes sense to you, I both applaud you and send my sincere sympathy.

Oh, and the other cost: Instead of being the guy who makes fun of people living with their parents, I literally am the guy living with his parents. I'm not in the basement, but if we had one I would be.

It has been a very challenging couple of years, in sum. Despite the obstacles and my somewhat unreal expectations, it has been real. Like, really real, and where I am trending, I could not have gotten to otherwise - in every sense.


Anyone here getting the sense I just wrote that whole thing to myself, as though it wouldn't have mattered who was here or who asked me what? If so, and you don't already know me, consider yourself fully briefed.

Well, I don't know about what's going on in the Cornfield, but Pravda farted itself out of existence. Some of the Fielders came here and left a trail. I guess they were hoping for abuse.

What I want to know is who is playing the role of the lovely and ever popular Nemesis? Wouldn't it be a riot if that skeezy old Zhurnalist and his skag Nemesis popped in for real?

Nah, it's just me, and I didn't come here to give you a hard time. It would be nice if everyone came ove from both sites, on neutral territory where they run a tight but fair and logical ship.

One of the things I've learned after a decade of forums is how illogical it is to paint a villian mask on the people you spend the most time talking to. But that can be difficult, and misguided, when applied to people who purposefully dwell in a realm that positively reinforces their most negative behaviors.

Funny thing is, no matter how destructive a personality like that may appear, you may rest assured the damage they do is primarily to themselves. I say this because it is true based on my experience on both sides of the ice.

One of the things I've done to make sure some things rest in peace is to open up my facebook page to people I once "battled." I actually talk to The Beat every few days, and Owl occasionally. It's kind of neat what happens when people just be... People.

I'm happy to see you make a choice to find a more productive community to exchange outlooks and perspectives in. From what I have seen here, the slight adjustments necessary to respect the people here are probably well worth it.

As for me, my forum days are over, but my appreciating people days are rooting well.

If you need anything or just want to chat, I will be around. In the meantime, I can assure you nobody will lose any fingers or toes by accepting my friend request. ;p

 

Ah, speaking of The Beat, that's one person they still obsess over. Wasn't long ago they were sharing his facebook account link there.

I think a few rotten apples spoil the bunch, and not just in a short-term fashion.

 

Thank you, old friend. It was a pleasure getting to know a little about you and the others on that Iran thread forwhat six years? It was very interesting to me to see how people who almost violently disagree kind of looked forward to catching up with the people they disagreed with. What we did on that thread was a positive statement about people in a very negative environment. In a small way, I believe we did a good thing there, and I thank you for your reliable, respectable part in that.

18,000 posts. That's more words exchanged than in the entirety of some of my relationships. But maybe that's just because I've gotten better in my old age at making a beeline for the bootknockin.

 

I know, it's funny, pathetic and borderline criminal how bad some people still get their panties in a wad over that guy. He, like most of us, may have brought some of that on himself, but obsessive is definitely the correct word in describing the decade-long fascination and repetitive exposition of his every act, as though it were a a historical event of titanic proportion and signifigance. It says alot about the effects of too much free time and not wnough getting out of the house, and marks the limits of the minds which are constantly, continuously occupied by it.

Having said that, I would be dishonest if I pretwnded some of that stuff doesn't still provoke an occasional guilty chuckle. He can get a little worked up in very expressive ways.

Honestly, it's disturbing to me how correct some of his views have proven to be over the last decade. I used to fight him tooth and nail over subjects we now agree about. His views on America's increasingly fascist dwvelopments are very, very difficult to hear and consider, but to a conscientious human being thwy are difficult to outright deny. Trust me when I say I have denied them many times for many years, and yet they are what they are.

Little more wordy than you were probably expecting, but true -all true, indeed.

Ah, yes, talking about America's downfall as a free society will always get that crowd worked up. That might help explain their obsession - they always take a *very special liking* to people who say things about the US that make them uncomfortable.
