A coalition of pro-life doctors and organizations filed a first-of-its-kind lawsuit in federal court last week, charging that the Food and Drug Administration’s approval of the abortion pill violated federal policy and placed the lives of women at risk. The pill combination, often called “RU-486” due to its original name, can be taken at home during the early days of pregnancy. The regimen involves two drugs. One of them, mifepristone, blocks the hormone progesterone, causing the lining of the uterus to break down in order to kill the unborn baby. The second drug, misoprostol, sparks contractions and the delivery of the dead baby. It was approved under the administration of President Bill Clinton. The Biden administration expanded its access. “The only way the FDA could have approved chemical abortion drugs was to use its accelerated drug approval authority, necessitating the FDA to call pregnancy an ‘illness’ and argue that these dangerous drugs provide a ‘meaningful therapeutic benefit’ over existing treatments,” the lawsuit says. “But pregnancy is not an illness, nor do chemical abortion drugs provide a therapeutic benefit over surgical abortion. In asserting these transparently false conclusions, the FDA exceeded its regulatory authority to approve the drugs.” The FDA, the suit says, “never studied the safety of the drug” despite being required to do so… https://www.christianheadlines.com/contributors/michael-foust/pregnancy-is-not-an-illness-pro-life-groups-sue-biden-fda-over-abortion-pill.html The news about this lawsuit is good. There is as said no health benefit from this death drug. Pregnancy is certainly not an illness.
Republicans said they would not go after the abortion pill - they lied again they will go after all forms of birth control, watch and see
crazy, the evangelical right is on the losing side of history here, the midterms should have showed them that, they never learn
GOP keeps shooting itself in the foot. This is not a winning cause and if they keep it up, they will be on the losing end of the worthy causes.
Wanna know how to alienate a ton of voters? Take their choices from them, take their rights from them, and pretend you know what's best for them. A win here is somewhere in the middle not on the fringe ends. Banning a pill, really???
I'm not familiar enough with the pill. I assume it's prescribed by a doctor. If that is the case I would think that the State's laws on abortion would determine when it could no longer be legally prescribed.
Same here... Also, speaking generally, I am not much of a Fan of people bumping Dead OPs (that brought crickets), after nobody else posted for 3 1/2 Days...
So next they'll go after the day-after pills so they can FORCE women to carry their rapist's babies - cause that's how screwed up in the head they are.
Why such a restriction? Threads can easily get lost due to more popular threads. Maybe you should bring it up in the suggestion forum. I'm not a fan of it being brought up in the thread.
