I like Candace Owens. I like her positions on race. I like her passion. But that is all she is experienced in. The Democrats would hammer her for her lack of any experience really running anything other than her social media accounts.

I'm sorry but a hard right wing candidate is not going to win. Even when Trump won, he wasn't perceived as being hard right. He was perceived as being a pragmatic and patriotic nationalist, not unlike Ross Perot, who wanted to actually get things done.

At least a third of voters are Independents, and in 2016 enough of them were willing to give Trump a chance that he won the election.

Unless you want a President Harris, you have to do what the Democrats did in 2020. They didn't choose based upon their first choice or who would make a good President. They chose by "who can win."

If the Republicans choose Trump to run again, they'll lose. The Independents are not going to swing back to him.

If Candace Owens ran, she'd lose. No experience. Even her color and gender wouldn't help her against Harris.

Nikki Haley may not be a hard right wing firebrand, but she comes off as informed, experienced, articulate, and reasonably conservative. That is the kind of candidate who could win in 2024. That is the kind of candidate who could swing Independents to the Republican side, and those Independents are crucial to winning. You cannot win without them.
