President Trump meets victims of Hurricane Harvey in Texas: 'There's a lot of love'

    Trump at Harvey shelter: There's a lot of love, happiness

    President Trump on Saturday returned to Texas to visit with storm victims and officials amid reports that he’s now asking Congress for as much as $14.5 billion in immediate aid to help the states recovery from Hurricane Harvey.

    The president on Saturday visited NRG Stadium, the home of the Houston Texans, that has served as a recovery center for hurricane victims.

    The president, speaking to reporters, praised the recovery efforts so far.

    “Really, I think people appreciate what’s been done,” he said. “It’s been done very efficiently, very well, and that’s what we want. We’re very happy with the way everything is going."

    Along with first lady Melania Trump, the president handed out lunches of hot dogs, chips and apple sauce to people at the shelter. The president was also seen giving hugs and playing with kids.

    Good on Trump for returning and visiting with victims of the flood/hurricane.

    At one point him and melania were loading up cars with food and water.

    He also met with children displaced by the disaster.

    Lol. Trump had to take a mulligan since his last visit was such a fiasco. Oh look, he's not hawking hats this time. Good for him! Looks like he's learned a bit from real presidents.

    Trump is doing what is expected of the president, nothing more, nothing less. He sent a request to Congress for $7.9 billion, not $14.5 billion. I'm quite sure Congress will approve much more.....

    Trump - "Will that make the people love me?"

    Chief of Staff - "Yes, Mr. President, you can tell everybody how much the people love you ..."

    Trump performed to perfection in this disaster and the left hates it.

    Everything that he could do to help he has done and we couldn't ask more of a president.

    There is plenty to criticize him for if you wish but his handling of this disaster isn't one of them.
