    Still WRONG!

just 32 DAYS counts as MORE than a month!

    The FACTS prove you WRONG!

Even YOUR own link proved you WRONG!

    That makes it YOUR problem!

Well, the only ones that I have seen have been at 5:00 PM CDT (sometimes, lately, around 4:30).

However, since I posted the OP, his updates have often been briefer; so the news has not been entirely pre-empted by this.

An addendum: Even so, the news--both local and national/international--has been almost entirely preoccupied with stories about the coronavirus. I keep thinking that something else must be happening in the city; the state; the nation; and the world, at large.

Apparently, however, nothing else is happening.

(If China were to hit Washington with six or eight nuclear missiles, it would probably make the last five minutes of the news--as a mere afterthought...)

I simply do not agree that it is a "crisis."

(Someone has said--quite trenchantly, I believe--that it is not a "pandemic," as it is often described; but, rather, a Dem Panic.)

Sorry my Foreign friend we understand English is not your natural language. We all see that you were arguing we weren't offering help, I and Struth gave you links showing we were and then you moved the goal posts because they said different dates. We all see your political rage and it's disturbing. Oh and hate to be technical because it's all blowing up in you face but More than a month is months, maybe the language barrier got you but either way your completely wrong on both accounts so be happy that it wasn't like your dark thoughts thought.

Actually, only by one metric, so far as I have seen: Some claim that it is "10 times" as deadly as the seasonal flu.

And that is correct. Well, sorta-kinda, anyway.

For those who catch the coronavirus, the death rate is one percent; whereas, for the seasonal flu, it is just one-tenth of one percent.

But that is a difference of just nine-tenths of one percent.

Am I really supposed to alter my daily routine because of a difference in mortality of just nine-tenths of one percent?

I wish to be associated with neither the "Resistance" nor the MAGA types. I find neither group appealing. (In fact, I am proud to be an individual--not a member of a group.)

Would it be fair, on the other hand, to characterize you as a member of the "Resistance"?

Seriously dude? it's at least 10 times multiplier. I say at least because the flu mortality rate of .1% INCLUDES the old and compromised. That means that mortality rate for middle aged healthy individuals is probably well below .1%. The bottom line is that everyone is MUCH more likely to die of covid-19 than seasonal flu. It's REALLY not debatable.

I have no idea what you're talking about, I'm a member of no "Resistance". I just call 'em as I see 'em and I see trump as a buffoon. FWIW, I'm a life time republican, voted libertarian for the first time in my life in 2016. I would have voted for any of the other GOP candidates. Hope that clears everything up.

So Trump knew about the virus in December. And he is just getting serious about masks, and ventilators and other PPE now! Worse than I thought.

Trump called and promised a lot during his campaign. Most of which he didn’t act or deliver on.

Nor, of course, despite his lies was all travel to and from China banned:

Trump’s order did not fully “close” the U.S. off to China, as he asserts. It temporarily barred entry by foreign nationals who had traveled in China within the previous 14 days, with exceptions for the immediate family of U.S. citizens and permanent residents. Americans returning from China were allowed back after enhanced screening at select ports of entry and for 14 days afterward. But U.S. scientists say screenings can miss people who don’t yet show symptoms of COVID-19; while symptoms often appear within five or six days of exposure, the incubation period is 14 days.

Apparently no one in your circle has had this. It's a nasty bugger and it's NOT the flu. There is evidence that 50% of the permanent lung damage has already occurred when you first feel symptoms, even in "mild" cases. As for the idea that a bunch of folks already had it and barely noticed, South Korea has done one of the better jobs of extensively testing and they did NOT find this to be true.

There's a lot of bullshit around this thing, don't let it lull you into a false sense of complacency.

This is more infectious than the flu. If you are still catching seasonal flu, you are flunking your "practice tests" and you may need to tighten up your procedures.

    I wish you the best,
    Zorro

I was waiting anxiously for Mr. Pillow to lead the nation in prayer. I hear he will have Diamond and Silk lead us in a gospel song tomorrow. The next day, Nuge will show up and shoot a cut out target that looks like the virus. So much winning, so stable, what a genius.

Yes, praise upon praise for the West Coast liberals in Washington and California, who are the only ones who had their act together and mitigated the exponential rate of infection. This goes back to actions they took when trump was calling their claims a hoax.

Another fact: The virus had already been detected in the State of Washington before trump imposed the travel ban.

Time after time Birx pointed to the State of Washington as the definitive example of how to do this.

Recall that trump was just ranting about the Governor of Washington

    https://www.seattletimes.com/seattl...g-coronavirus-briefing-says-he-wont-call-him/

So trump refuses to talk to the one of two LEADERS who got it right.

Oh yes, and trump finally admitted what Democrats have been saying all along. If we do nothing, we could see 2 MILLION dead. This is not the flu. And you won't be going to church on Easter.

Trump was extremely presidential again today in his mannerisms, speech and demeanor. Deferred to the medical folks, gave out lots of appreciation and compliments. Was realistic but optimistic. Brief was informative, appreciative, supportive and motivational. That's a good brief.

This revised Trump should scare the hell of the DNC. Biden is simply no match for the revised version of Trump.

What does the virus being in WA already have to do with the ban? Mitigation by not letting more in was a win pure and simple.

CA and especially LA is going to get racked and racked hard. No ideal why you would imply it's over there and was successfully handled by the liberal govt there.

NY & NJ, both liberal run. Both getting racked.

NOLA, Chicago & Detroit, all expected to get racked hard, liberal run.

And no need to use caps to make a point if that point has any weight to it.

Yeah, this. Trump needed to do that press conference yesterday and today, and this time, I'll forgive him his snarkiness. No President wants to admit TWO MILLION AMERICANS could die on his watch. Talk about a catastrophe! And then to have to tell us, while we're losing 500+ a day, that the death toll won't peak for TWO WEEKS. We'll going to lose a lot of people this month. And also that, if everything goes all right, we'll still lose 100,000-200,000. Those are some hard truths to tell.

Trump went from roaring economy to calamity so fast, I almost feel sorry for him. I wouldn't want to be President right now.

Yes, but he drug his feet, downplayed the threat, created another crackpot conspiracy theory, and lulled millions of people into a false sense of security. In turn they went out and were reckless, got exposed, got sick and or passed it on to 2.5 other people, and likely thousands will die as a result. Yeah, I wouldn't want to be trump. He will have a lot of dead bodies to explain.

His foolishness and the prevailing messiah complex has finally killed a lot of people - likely thousands, perhaps tens of thousands.

When asked why he allowed Mardi Gras to proceed, the Governor of Louisiana responded, the Federal Government didn't have any warnings posted. No one said it might not be safe. Mardi Gras is thought to be the epicenter for the outbreak rapidly escalating in Louisiana.

On the subject of his briefings, Trump would do himself a huge favor if he pre-read his materials prior to going to the podium and stick to the script. It is when he tries to riff that he makes an ass of himself. Presumably, his prepared notes contain the information people need and want. There is no need for his additional bragadociousness.

He is using these briefings to only feed his ego and attack the press.

The best thing that he could do would be to not show up at all and leave it to Pence and the doctors.

I think he has done that, this is not the same Trump at the mic from a month ago.
