Prince Harry urges US citizens to 'reject hate speech' and vote in the presidential election

    ...

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex appeared in a live video in what appeared to be their California home as part of the Time 100 - a list compiled by Time magazine to celebrate the world's most influential people.

It was their first joint TV appearance since they ceased being working members of the Royal Family in March.

"As we approach this November, it's vital that we reject hate speech, misinformation and online negativity," the duke said as he sat on a bench alongside Meghan.

He also reminded Americans to be discerning in the content they consumed online.

"When the bad outweighs the good, for many, whether we realise it or not, it erodes our ability to have compassion and our ability to put ourself in someone else's shoes," he said.

"Because when one person buys into negativity online, the effects are felt exponentially. It's time to not only reflect, but act."

    ... https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-54257450

I feel the whole forum, myself included, needs to stop and consider what Prince 'Arry is saying here. But especially the trumpers, of course, who are the most negative and by far post the most misinformation.

He's a private citizen now, and not American. Why is he in the Time list?

Gee thanks, Harry. May I suggest you concern yourself with your family and leave us alone?

Should we really be listening to what Harry has to say, with his connections to Epstein and all?

This seems like a pathetic attempt by him to try to get on the media's good side and hopefully give himself better public coverage to undo the scandal, which (while nothing was proven definitively) has been a large part of what has pushed him out of the Royal Family.
He was probably told to go stay out of public view for a while.

To be honest, I can't think of one reason that anyone in the US would listen to Harry. He doesn't have a job. He got fired from his last job. He married a woman that got him fired, and now he's a refugee in a country that he likey doesn't have a current visa for.. Hard to know though, he might still be categorized as a Canadian. In any event, he is not a citizen of this country. Getting advice from him is like listening to what the daughter of ms Merkel might have to say. They are lovely people for sure, but who cares? I don't think folks in Britain would care a whit about what any daughter of the Kardashians might volunteer as advice politically or socially to the folks there.

Whoever put him on (Time Warner in this case) is looking for public consumption, because, perhaps he's somewhat relevant, but isn't a US based company appealing based on the legitimacy of a monarchy something even democrats wouldn't support? Again, hard to know. They did all seem to want Cruella as Queen of the US. But I digress.

Lovely chap, keep your opinions to yourself Harry. Just smile, and be pretty for cameras for as long as that lasts.

Presumably because the people who complied the list for Time still consider him one of the world's most influential people?

A generic, vanilla message that can be for anyone of any political party. They dont have pull or perhaps even respect from majority of Americans. But works well to further influence the celebrity Hollywood class which is their ticket to success here.

Why is he sticking his nose into matters which do not concern him? I thought the left was all against foreign influence into our elections.

You could probably say that about most of the people on the list (I'd not even heard of many of them) but the point is that it's Time's opinion on who is most influential in the world that counts, regardless what you or I think. The points your raised - that he is now a private citizen and isn't American - are clearly irrelevant either way.

That said, he made fairly innocuous comments about the US election and it's being reported by a major broadcaster and someone chose to post about it here, so that implies at least a some level of influence.

How is what he said going to influence anyone to vote for one side or the other?
He's just saying be careful what information you get online and make sure you vote.

    Why was he even asked?

"as part of the Time 100 - a list compiled by Time magazine to celebrate the world's most influential people."

Which just being on that list is laughable at best. And of course his statement came just after his wife had tacitly endorsed Biden.

Again why would he influence anyone what has he done to be influential except cut from the Royal Family being led around by that hook in his nose by his seemingly petulant wife.

Well, Harry's work in the field of disabled veterans alone is enough to make him influential. Then there's the fact that he's 5th in line to the throne of England which is a big thing for members of the Commonwealth in particular and they number a large proportion of the world's population.
What his wife says is a different matter entirely, she has not had the need to show impartiality drilled into her since birth like members of the Royal family have.

Whoa there cowboy, you're in danger of exposing your bigotry right now.
Wives are perfectly entitled to their own opinions and derogatory words like petulant say more about you than her.

Yesssssssssssssss . . . because Trump supporters are the hate-filled radicals setting parts of cities on fire for month after month while Dem Party mayors and governors make it possible. Trump supporters are the ones threatening violence if a new Supreme Court judge is confirmed and Trump supporters are the ones threatening police across this nation with death.

What's bigoted about calling people petulant? Do you know what petulant means?
Also, the poster never made the argument that she cannot have her own opinion. It was that the poster disagrees with her bullying or manipulating Harry into agreeing with her and not being able to be his own person.

I think it was a joint decision based on a hatred for the British tabloid press he felt was responsible for the death of his mother and the desire to lead a life of his own choosing away from their scrutiny.
These attempts to portray a veteran of active service in Afghanistan as a ***** whipped wimp are particularly unpleasant.
And he hasn't abandoned his family only his Royal status.
