    Not sure what the situation is in the US, or elsewhere, however, here in the UK, if I happened to live in a very expensive house, with money that I could not account for, and both of those things were not consistant with my income, then the potential is there for the state to simply sell my house, and keep all monies that they suspect/know has come from any illegal activities that I am involved in.

    I get that, and I am fine with that, because the clear message with this is ( one would think), that a person should not be seen to profit from illegal activities.

    Hang on though. Isn't that a little hypocrtical? After all, having sold the house and taken the monies, aren't the state themselves not.....benefitting from the 'proceeds of crime'? Where does all this money go? There can be only one set of conditions in which this would be acceptable, imo.

    Let's say that I made my money from selling vast amounts of cocaine, I have a house worth £1m, several cars, and £100k in cash, in a safe, in my house. For me, it would only be justice if those proceeds went directly (every penny), to investing in things such as rehab centres, to help the many whose lives I had damaged by my illicit trade. To use it for anything else seems very two faced.

    Thoughts?

    Would it help if I gave a few random mentions of these key words;

    Obama, Tea Party, Zionist, Muslim extremists?

    Even if they have nothing to do with the thread!

    :)

    they government is not here to help you, get this through your head and you will be much better off. As long as they don't murder you in front of your family then they are "morally" better off, and in control of you. the riots were just the growing discontent with the status quo, the police batons were the return to the status quo. trust me the police probably wanted to kill the looters like they were rats im sure. but luckily it would have been filmed, showing how 1st world countries are very little different than 3rd world countries.

    I've never believed that 'democratic Governments' are here to help me, you, or anyone such as us. They are there to help themselves, their allies, and corporations. Even if (and it usually does), actually costs that nations own people, in some way, some way that is damaging.

    I got that a long time back, which is why I would not vote for any of them, as to vote is to endose.

    That said, there are still sufficient numbers who still kid themselves that we live in a 'true' democracy, and that corruption and propaganda here, are fairly rare, and that everyone is generally honest. They likely have no idea the scale of the lies that they have been told, why else do you think the US got v threatening over the creator of Wikileaks? Because they have a LOT to hide, and I don't mean in a national security way, I mean in a way that would likely put them in a bad light, among voters and the people.

    The state is a criminal organization. Everything it does happens by the proceeds of crime. Considering that it is the creator of the drug dealer price support programs that leads to your hypothetical ill gotten gains, it's hard to call it hypocritical when it "taxes" those gains at 100% and uses them for whatever it deems best.

    Then how do we bring down the Monster, and how do you diffuse the message that people are all being farmed and processed, and, therefore, we need to reject the system, in it''s present form?

    Like I said, there are still enough people who nail their colours to the political mast, of one or the other, when in fact both are often different sides of the same bent dollar bill, or pound coin.
