How??? Make them go to school??? Rewire their brains??? Hypnosis??? Drug them???
So far you're education idea doesn't sound too convincing. People will believe whatever they want to believe regardless of how much education you give them.
SO what/how are you gonna teach them that will change their minds?

You’re asking me to change the world. I can only inform those I have access to. What they do or don’t do with that information is strictly up to each individual. Silence is not an option for me. If I get to one person, I will have made some headway. If you take the same approach and you can move one person and that propagates further ... you see where this is going?

Sadly I do see where you are going. I've been trying your education idea since before Reagan was president to no avail. I thought maybe you had something I haven't tried yet. What method have you tried so far that you think has been successful?

Most of our problems can be controlled with Congressional term limits. I'd bet that 80% of America wants this. If both parties could agree to stick to this one issue we could get this done by the states.

IMO success is getting to one or more persons. Often you don’t know if you did or not not. People are stubborn and don’t want you to know you got to them. All you can do is try.

If only it were that simple. The number of problems are enormous. But I will add that to my list of suggested amendments along with a couple of others I was thinking about. Thanks.

If the Russians decide to nuke the US, does the President need to wait for Congress to declare war before he orders a counter-strike?

If the Russians decide to nuke the US none of the proposed Amendments will matter. In fact the Constitution itself won’t matter. Try sticking to the topic of this thread if you can.

    You didnt answer the question.
My question spoke -directly- to one of your proposed constitutional amendments.
Can you answer it, or not?

    I did.

No it doesn’t. If the Russians decide to nuke the US it doesn’t matter what the President or Congress does if anyone is even still alive and capable of doing something. Either way it doesn’t address anything about the constitutionally granted power of Congress to declare war.

Again try sticking to the topic or you will be ignored.

To review, this is a list of 9 Amendments I proposed to try to correct the many problems we have with our Constitution:

    1. We need a legitimate process to enforce the Constitution on government. That would mean among other things, taking away qualified and absolute immunity for government servants.

    2. We need to repeal the Federal Reserve Act and enforce Article I Section 8 Paragraph 5 (To coin Money, regulate the Value thereof, and of foreign Coin, and fix the Standard of Weights and Measures;).

    3. We need to remove the seized power of the judiciary to "interpret" the Constitution. With that, we need a system that reviews all proposed legislation for constitutional compliance and return all non-compliant bills to the legislature for correction. This should be controlled similarly to a jury system (in the hands of The People). Judicial review would be limited to interpreting laws for constitutional compliance, not the Constitution itself. Judges should be also be elected and serve no more than 2 terms of no more than 6 years each.

    4. We need to make corporate lobbying illegal. Only people lobbies would be legal.

    5. We need to make corporate campaign contributions illegal (overturning SEC vs Citizens United and along with it protected corporate "rights"). Only contributions by ordinary people would be legal and limited to a maximum per person per candidate per office.

    6. We need to repeal the 16th Amendment and end the income tax permanently. Along with that disband the IRS.

    7. We need to enforce Article I Section 8 Paragraph 11 (To declare War, grant Letters of Marque and Reprisal, and make Rules concerning Captures on Land and Water;) and remove all such decisions from the Executive.

    8. All candidates for public office should be required to pass a rigorous test on the Constitution and be barred from running for office if they cannot answer at least 90% of the questions correctly.

    9. A petition to Amend the Constitution (or repeal an Amendment)* can be submitted by any verified American citizen at any time. And any petition to Amend must be supported by a minimum of 50,000 signatures (this number can be modified to what may be considered reasonable) by verified American citizens to be achieved no later than 90 days prior to Election Day (the time period can also be modified to what is appropriate). Once enough signatures are obtained, the proposed Amendment is voted on within the originating state on Election Day (just Yes or No). If a vote achieves a 60% Yes vote or more, the proposed Amendment is then placed on the ballot in every state the following Election Day and is deemed ratified when passed by 60% or more of the states by 60% or more Yes votes per state.

    * The Bill of Rights is exempt from Amendment or repeal

I am adding Proposed Amendment #10 to the above list:

    10. Reasonable term limits for every public office (see video below).

    2. We need to repeal the Federal Reserve Act and enforce Article I Section 8 Paragraph 5 (To coin Money, regulate the Value thereof, and of foreign Coin, and fix the Standard of Weights and Measures;).

    * The Bill of Rights is exempt from Amendment or repeal

    10. Reasonable term limits for every public office.

    11. The President and the Vice-President shall be elected by a vote of more than 50% of the total popular vote of eligible voters in the United States. If no candidate receives more than 50% of the total popular vote of eligible voters in the United States, there shall be a runoff election between the 2 candidates receiving the top two most popular votes of eligible voters in the United States. This Amendment overrides all other portions of the Constitution that reference election for President and Vice-President.

    12. Article II, Section 2, Clause 1 of the Constitution is repealed and replaced as follows: The President shall have Power to grant reprieves and pardons for offenses against the United States. Exceptions shall be made where the President has any association of any kind with any person being considered or in cases of impeachment or for any person who has been found guilty of committing war crimes.

    I just go with these.

    1) Four term limits (16 years) for Congress and the Senate. And once retired no member of Congress or the Senate can nominate for the other house for at least 1 term.

    2) Age limit of the both houses, say 75 but index it to the national average lifespans every 10 years. (Allowing members who reach 75 during their term to complete that term if that birthday is 2 or less years away.) Same age limit for the Supreme Court.

    3) Bans on listed corporations making donations to either party unless - approved by all stockholders or their proxies in a vote every four years (or alternately there is a 50/50 split). All senators and members of congress to maintain a publicly accessible website listing all direct campaign contributors in descending order of amount Plus all daily contacts with Lobbyists by name and firm with a summery of topics discussed. All parties fund raising bodies to do the same.

    4) All professional lobbyists to publicly identify all clients and a corresponding list of politicians contacted with reason

    5) Cap tax destructibility of political donations at a maximum of USD 10,000

    6) As trade off have a degree of public funding allowed, modeled on currently existing State models or similar.(Indexed to inflation).

    7) Ban Presidential nomination of Ambassadorships to prominent donors and ban Presidential pardons.

I agree with all but #8 as that is too subjective and who writes and administers the test?

I would like to see us return an election day - that is 1 day long - with very strict sworn limitations on absentee voting - and both ID and fingerprint required recorded for every vote - even a fingerprint and photo of ID included, poll watchers allowed to view each ballot and all voting, and that polling places for voting and vote counting be video recorded - other than votes could not be seen. ALL voting would be by paper ballots with the voter's fingerprint - also biometrically recorded when receiving the ballot. No counting machines may be able to be altered/reprogrammed and with no telephone or internet connection ability.
However, that could be required by a federal law for federal office elections.

There are many possibilities but mine would be an independent committee of say a half dozen constitutional scholars/professors selected at random every 4 years from a group of say 2 dozen or more. Other suggestions may be just as good. Either way it's necessary as some candidates have no clue what they're taking the Oath to and it is their primary mandate as government servants.

I would too only if it's practical. Meaning ALL the vote counting can be accomplished in one day. Otherwise there's no valid reason not to extend the time to count votes to insure ALL the votes that are made prior to and including election day are not counted just because the counting is limited to 1 day. It makes no sense to disenfranchise tens of thousands of voters or more who voted on time just because those who count their votes weren't able to count theirs in time.

Somehow I missed this one Bob.

I agree with your ideas, but as you know, I'm a cynical bastard.

If our elected officials are already not honoring their oath of office and the US Constitution, what makes you think they will suddenly start when new ones are added?

Great ideas, but the rule of law in this country has been dead for a very long time.

The idea is to close as many loopholes and trojan horses that currently exist in the Constitution as possible and correct many other issues based on the history of abuses committed by government servants as well as our defective legal system. If #1 is properly done, government servants would no longer be immune from prosecution or lawsuits for their misdeeds.

Nothing is perfect and I haven't come up with all the answers but I tried to cover as much as possible based on what I've studied over the decades. I also invite others to throw in their suggestions so I can keep adding them to the list if they make sense. Don't forget I added 3 more suggested Amendment to the ones you quoted (see post #65 for the complete list).

Government must do everything possible to establish maximum deadlines to insure voter fraud does not take place or we will be in the position once again like we are now......on the brink of Revolution.

I agree with safeguards on voter fraud, which has nothing to do with how long it takes to count 50+ million votes or any Amendment. While it may take days to hand count that many votes and there should be some reasonable deadline for the task, the timing should be reasonable, not unreasonable such that votes are tossed out strictly for expedience or to entertain a lunatic's (and/or scammer's) invented conspiracy theory. I disagree that we're on the brink of revolution because said lunatic/scammer has managed to convince his cult there's massive voter fraud without any supporting evidence.

Call me a cult member....it's o.k. I have some names for your side that I'll withhold. Why do you think almost all of Europe has rejected the idea of "unsolicited mail in balloting"? It's because their establishment doesn't desire to declare winners. They let the voters do it!

I didn't call you a cult member nor am I on any "side". I proposed these amendments to try to curtail abuses of power by the US government, all 3 branches. Voter fraud has nothing to do with that unless that fraud is being perpetrated by the US government. The current system unfortunately invites fraud by placing a higher proportional value on votes from States with lower populations. Voter fraud committed by people is an issue for law enforcement, not constitutional amendments.

This phony obsession with (mass) voter fraud only exists because of the scam being perpetrated by Donald Trump who is desperately seeking to steal the election. If anyone is committing mass voter fraud, that's the guy.
