I think this does a good job debunking the myth that "pro-pedophilia" groups or movements within the "LGBT" subculture have completely ceased to exist.

My understanding is that some of the more prominent "LGBT activists" in the 1960s and onward were known for being sympathetic to pedophilia or associated with groups like NAMBLA. (As well as influential "radical" thinkers such as Michel Foucault having recently been alleged to have molested children as well):

Two books have been removed from Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) after a parent dramatically read graphic passages from them during a school board meeting.

The two books — “Gender Queer” by Maia Kobabe and “Lawn Boy” by Jonathan Evison — were suspended “effective immediately” this week after parent Stacy Langton revealed the graphic sexual nature of the book. FCPS released a statement saying it would review the content of the novels:

As Langton noted, the books contain pedophilia.

“After seeing a September 9th school board meeting in Texas on pornography in schools, I decided to check the titles at my child’s high school, Fairfax High School. The books were available, and we checked them out. Both of these books include pedophilia, sex between men and boys,” Langton said last Thursday at the school board meeting while holding the two books. “The illustrations include fellatio, sex toys, masturbation, and violent nudity.”

I thought it was disgusting if it was true which is why I looked it up — you never know with some of the school boards around the nation.

    I’m glad it was false.

No, they were sexually explicit — but between two minors and thus not molestation.

There are much worse books in high school / public libraries so I assume the outrage is either because of poor reading comprehension or that it involved same sex sexual activity, perhaps both.

Okay, thanks for straightening that out I don't know why I got confused.
I'm thinking the latter. There seems to be this idea that people have that anything that portrays homosexuality in anything but a negative light is somehow going to convince people that they should be gay. Which always seemed odd to me.

I've encountered people like this and I've asked them is the only reason you're not gay is because you didn't read a book where two male characters had sex with each other? Or because you just weren't around enough gay people when you were growing up?

It doesn't seem to work the other way I remember watching movies and reading stories and there's always a romantic component to them the boy has a crush on a girl a princess finds a prince and so far it didn't make me straight.

    Odd fear.

They feel it is a disease, but also a mental illness, but also chosen, but also caused by trauma, but also a test from God.
Consistency isn’t in the arsenal of these people.

    Yeah that's a good summation.

And talking to these people and for whatever reason I find it interesting they seem to pick one and commit.

I think the first one the idea that it's a disease or a contracted mental disorder if you will it says more about the person presenting it then who their presenting it to. If these things happen to me I might actually be gay. Meaning they probably aren't 100% straight and that they have thought about it maybe even done it. I was surprised when I first came out how many of my straight friends had confessed to fooling around with somebody with the same sex once.

I think the people who claim that it's chosen are a bit myopic. "I can't see how someone could possibly find someone of the same sex attractive' to the point where they have no interest in the opposite sex.

The ones who talk about some sort of trauma causing it are probably the most interesting to me. Isn't that dismissal or an excuse to actually think that they are helping. This one is coupled often with narcissism. Where a person convinces themselves better than you yourself often times without even meeting you. These strike me as the people who are most likely to really be gay. This effort to convince others is really more of an effort to convince themselves.

I suppose I'd think about this crap far too much
