Do We Really Require An Office Of Tax Supported Education Impartiality?
    I hope not.
    But, it sure seems so.

There is already a topic about that. Public school are a disaster for a long time and not that many people want to bother with nowodays kids; so they can't really get the elite.
Anyway, there was always a difference between the kids that came back from school which turned on the TV or the computer for video games or the kids who opened a book.
If you can, put your children in a private school, otherwise, make them read books, because it's not with school they will get a quality education.

Why the rich and powerful put their kids in private schools. Name me one Congressman, Senator or any other high racking Politician or cabinet member who has their kids in a government school.

    Tax Supported Pubic Schools
    Should be teaching "critical thinking"
    Not indoctrination.

Yes and traditional White, EuroCentric History and philosophy
    that created our modern world.
    No apologies.
Polynesians had a great understanding of oceanic trade
They introduces Taro to East Africa.
    And chickens to South America.
But, in the 21st Century, a footnote for persons with interest in further study.

I remember my Junior year High School teacher
who as a final exam offered
Who is better representing the "tragic hero" ala Oedipus?
    King Lear vs MacBeth.
No MacBeth advocate got over a "B" grade as teacher expressed
Anyone Who Understands Will Witness King Lear the better answer.

After I chose MacBeth I dropped to half day High School
and took classes at a local Junior College.
Got an "A" at Orange Coast College, Junior College, and rubbed it in his FACE!

Clearly we need a return to a time of impartial by any editorializing

Public schools are run by your community. They set the curriculum and hire the staff. If you are not happy with your public school get our community to do something about it. There is no national conspiracy here. If a teacher called the President an idiot in the school he/she should be disciplined by the local school board or superintendent.

I figure that public education is a great investment for poor people to make. They pay for it through real estate taxes, their kids waste 12 years of their life going there, and my kids run rings around them in the job market.

The world needs people who can push shovels every bit as much as people who can push pencils. Keeping the lower classes in their place is necessary for a balance between generals and cannon fodder.

    YES

But, what about Public Schools as "political tools".

    That is the question!

    Is It Happening? Yes!

So what does @Belch say to that?

My son's first grade teacher, a liberal loon, told me that first graders didn't need to learn anything. My son's second year he started a private school that taught the basics and also handed out discipline.

They've been used as political tools since pretty much their inception. They're great places for indoctrinating children, and have been used to convince young men to kill each other in wars since forever. Allowing the government to teach your children is just asking for that because there is no incentive to do anything else.

If you look at anything whether it be a public school or a walmart, you can always find out its true nature by looking at incentives. Follow the money and you will find the reason for its existence.

In fact the lower educational attainments, in red States, can be linked to conservative take overs of school boards.

This why we need Trump/faux conservatives out of office, nonsense fatigue.

If they spent as much time figuring out what they actually believe as they do creating vitriolic dumb the world we be a better place. What the hell are you for?
