Farrakhan has First Amendment rights which allow him freedom of speech; no matter how ugly it sounds. There are some Whites who believe they should be able to say the N word; they say the First Amendment gives them that right. Being able to say ugly things is NOT economic or political power.

It is NOT silly. Without economic or political power, a person cannot enforce racism on anyone. Can Farrakhan stop you from living in the neighborhood you want to live in? Can he keep you out of a school you want to go to? Can he prevent you from getting a bank loan? Or a job?

White racism has been exploited by the Republican Party to turn the white working class and the once Solid South into Republican constituencies. Nevertheless, white racism is generated by high rates of black crime and welfare expense, and programs like affirmative action. White liberals live in safe, which is to say white, neighborhoods. White blue collar workers cannot afford to do that. Therefore they have to pay the price for liberal ideals, while white liberals send their children to schools with few or no blacks in them. This is because black majority public schools are dangerous places where little learning occurs. They are particularly dangerous for whites, Orientals, and blacks who "act white" by trying to learn.
I think you two are talking about two different categories of racism. There is personal racism, like the great uncle who hates Filipinos. Something that is a chronic problem with tribal man. Then there is institutional racism. Racism that is usually controlled by the dominant society. If the dominant society doesn't want a certain race in that side of town they will be shown housing elsewhere. They will find it difficult to get a small business loan and so on. Liberal here. I live in an older urban "mixed" neighborhood with section 8 apartments one and a half blocks away. I sent my children to a predominately black (67%) public high school and they got a good education without injury.....in other words you are FOS
Calling me a vulgar name does not lend credibility to your argument. If what you say is true, your experiences are unusual. I am fortunate in that I never attended a school in my life where the black percentage in the student body was over five percent. Usually it was less. I have talked to a lot of whites who were less fortunate than me. Some were teachers. They tell me black majority schools were dangerous places where little learning occurred. I doubt that it is "ignorant racism" that causes even white liberals to go to such lengths to send their children to schools with few or no Negroes in them. Several years ago I read about a black majority public high school in the city where I live. The white students were beaten up by blacks when they used the rest rooms. When they complained to the black principal he suggested that they use the rest room in the nurse's office.
